Things Meant To Be – (Chapter: Episode 2.17)

South Of Nowhere – 2.17 – Things Meant To Be

“It hurts,” lamented Glen.  Face twisted in pain, as the PT therapist forced him to bend his knee.  “Fuck!”  The young man slammed an open hand into the bench he was lying on.

“Glen, this isn’t going to be easy,” stated Dawn.  “If you want to be playing basketball this time next year, you’re going to have to work at it.  Working through the pain is part of that.”

“Isn’t there something you can give me?  For the pain?”  Asked Glen, blue eyes filled with tears.  Dawn shook her head.

“No, only what you take, when you are supposed to take it.  Pills aren’t going to help you in your rehab, Glen.  Only you can do that.”

“Fine.  I’m done.  I’m going to wait for my mom,” announced Glen in a frustrated tone.  He grabbed his crutches, moving slowly to the waiting area.  One of the other PT therapists, Rachel, moved to Dawn, motioning towards Glen.

“He’s not going to make it.  He’s got no drive.”

“That’s what happens when you have natural talent, you think it comes easy.  He’s not going to be able to glide by.  I’ll give him a month, no improvement, and I’ll inform the parents,” stated Dawn.

Aiden moved towards the door of his sister, Zoe’s room.  She was on the floor, rocking back and forth, “Aiden… baby Aiden…,” she was singing.  Aiden moved to her, kneeling and touching her shoulder.

“Zo?”  Aiden asked, but she skittered away from him.  Fearful of the sudden human contact, Aiden was taken back by her actions.  He’d wanted to come tell her about Madison and his baby.  His father had gone ballistic over the news, but Aiden wasn’t all that sad about it.  He liked the thought of having someone of his own to love, someone that would always love him back.  No matter if he scored two 3 pointers, or 100.

“Baby Aiden, hurt baby Aiden…,” repeated the autistic girl.  Aiden got up, turning to the door, and going off to find a nurse, he didn’t know what Zoe was talking about, but he was going to find out.

    1. Have I told you how much I LOVE this story?!? Ashley freaking ROCKS…she is officially the coolest person on earth (ehhh don’t tell me she’s not real…you’ll burst my bubble LOL j/k). I love how Ashley is matching Paula at every move AND how she’s making Spencer realize (or at least working on making her realize) how she’s lucky that her mom at least cares enough to be angry/unsupportive. I know Paula is a bitch, but it does show she cares and with time I’m sure Ashley will win her over. I LOVE THIS STORY!!!!! And woooooo, keep the updates coming. :D

    2. This just proves how uber cool Ashley is. She know the game, and she plays it well. This story just keeps getting more interesting…..but i dont have to tell u that!
