    Not wanting to, But Having to

    Chapter One

    She woke up because she could feel her arms empty, their bed was now empty, but most of all, so was her heart. Bette still lay in the same spot Tina had left her in, on her back, half naked, and all alone. Tina filled with all sorts of emotions got up as if nothing gathered a few things and walked out of their used to be home. Bette just stayed there frozen with exhaustion, the shock, but most of all the hurt she had caused.

    She knew better than to run after Tina, it wasnt what she wanted right now. Bette wanted to, but she couldnt make herself run to Tina only to be rejected from her. Her heart could only take so much. Yet it wasnt her own heart she was worried about, the one that mattered most to hers was now broken and she was to blame. She sat up in what was now her bed and looked around because she was gone.

    It was only three o clock and just three hours ago she had closed her eyes and tried to forget. Bette knew Tina would never answer the phone after what she had discovered about her wife, so with what little strength she had left, she fought herself to get dressed and go to where she was at Alices.

    Tinas eyes were still red and so tired, but she couldnt allow herself to sleep. The imperfect scenes would then only return to her head and sting her heart just a little more. They always repeated in the same manner, over and over again. Bette grabbing her hand as she walked away, Bette telling her she was sorry, and then the most painful of all, letting Bette rip her dress off and touching her and then Tina, herself, grabbing onto Bettes hand and making her try to feel anything that was left of their love.

    Alice of course had taken her in and loving her with all she had, but Alices love wasnt enough so she had to call Shane and Dana. Then when they were all together minus one, Alice had to let go of the most painful words she ever had to speak, telling them of Bettes affair with Candace. When all was said and done they too gave Tina their all, but they were split on how to feel towards Bette. They loved her as well, but Tina was the one that needed them most, at the moment.

    2. Damn! Now, that was intense and probably one of the few fics to have Bette come directly over and face Tina right after the blowup.

    6. This is the way I would love to see season 2 start. I like the way you expalin their feelings. Send this to Eileen and tell her this is what we want ot see!!!!

    8. Wow is right. I think Tina needs to work on her temper. Why is it that when she was hurting Bette by holding onto her face real tight, and then hitting her in the face, no one tried to stop her, but when Bette grabbed Tina’s hands to protect herself, Shane wanted to come to the rescue? Throwing the ring may have made a good point, but it is never a good thing to throw something at someone and draw blood. The emotions were raw, the writing very good!

    9. Nicely done. I like the way Bette went to find Tina – even if it didn’t turn out the way she intended.
      The ring hitting her square in the chest was awesome!
