CHAPTER 4
Shane: Alright we’ll end with ten minutes of light sparring…all gear is on, I’m not driving anyone to the ER today… I’ll be back in five I gotta go check in on the music room.
” You call that ***** music!” Came a voice from the group.
Shane: You think you can do better?!?! (Shane growled)
Everyone stepped back and ‘parted the sea’. They had never really seen Shane pissed off and didn’t want to get in her way with the look she had in her eyes.
“Yeah I can do better if you gave me a trumpet and had me play out my *****.”
Shane looked the source of the insults up and down. She saw a thin girl of about 15 standing before her. She had dark raven hair and piercing green eyes. Besides the obvious physical attributes, Shane could see herself in the young girl and softened her demeanor. She also couldn’t help but notice the burn marks, scars and cutting marks the girl had on her arms. She couldn’t really hide them with the dress-code. Since the beginning Shane had insisted everyone changed into black sweat- pants and a black wife-beater. She wanted no one to look or feel better than another. This was her class and she wanted them all on equal footing.
Shane had been teaching Martial Arts and giving piano lessons to the local kids for the past few months on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. On Saturday mornings she made the newbies and real trouble makers come in for extra help, and to clean the church they used. Now this wasn’t out of the goodness of her heart, she was repaying an outstanding debt. Besides, they were all in the same boat…they were paying back an unpayable debt to a man who at one point in time had saved all of their lives. Shane realized the entire group of teens were looking at her waiting for her response.
Shane: See me after class…the rest of you pair off and get to work.
Shane walked out of the room and into the next room that had six children each at their own keyboards with headphones in another corner their was a teenaged boy in a wheelchair butchering a song on the piano and another teenaged girl fighting for superiority on an electric organ.

I know what you mean, RealJLo. You have to put the italic text and bold text between tags. And if I type them in here, I think the board will code them rather than showing you the tags. Pain in the butt! But a great story continuing. I’m lovin it.
ok first a correction… in the last section of dialogue when it says “he’s the one who dropped her as a baby…” its supposed to say “dropped her off…” as in at the hospital..I’m laughing hystericaly at my comp because that just gives the story a whole new twist…and second….WHAT’S A TAG?!?!?!
This is just getting more and more interesting!! Please post again soon and thanx for this update!! :)
I love your story JLO! It’s great. Never thought that Shane could play the piano…That’s cool.
Aaargh!!!! Starting to hate these tags now… Does every single letter turn into a tag cos I just turned ‘and’ blue… Gonna try one last time… but only cos I’m stubborn as an ass… the animal that is… put section between the tags < b > and < / b > only without the spaces (if i leave ’em out they turn into tags :S) and for italic < i > and < / i > And now I’m going back to work before the frustration gets to me ~grins and apologises if now you’re more confused~
First off… LOVE the story and LOVE Shane… You’ve definitely got me hanging to your every word… As for the bolds and italics… If you want bold, put the section you want bold between and and if you want italic between and … let’s see if this comes across properly…
Mmm… well that worked really well ~voice dripping with sarcasm as i hit myself upside the head with my coffee mug~… Guess windrider was right… ok… second attempt… tag to start bold is < b > and to end it is b > and for italic it’s < i > and i > only – and this is important – without the spaces between them… so it looks something like and only with b or i… Get it? Or should I just shut up?
Suggestion: ditch Word Perfect and use Word. Or, embed html tags to achieve the same results.
Now, on to this chapter.
Shane’s character is a natural mystery, since the producers barely gave her any lines with which to work in season one. I’m glad you’re delving into her past and present for us.
Hope the typing lessings are going well.. Hee hee.. Jlo…love this story.. I like shane and the panio..opposites attract…take care dear and keep writing you are amazing..
oh no.. I am in the land of Italics… yikes.. :)
