Chapter Two:

That’s how Kit found them. She had a key of the house so she could let herself in. Since the house was dark, she thought they must be asleep. So Kit walked to the bedroom and knocked on the door. Because there was no answer, she opened the door and saw her sister snuggled up to her woman. It was a adorable sight which caused Kit to have tears in her eyes.

“You two are a match made in heaven, please baby sis, I hope that you know what a lucky woman you are.”
Kit turned around and walked to the kitchen. While setting the table for her sister and sister-in-law, Bette woke up. She turned around. Something was different in the house and then she smelled the food and realised she was hungry. Careful not to wake up Tina, she stood up and walked to the kitchen.

“Hey Kit, she said. How long you’ve been here?”

“Long enough to see how adorably you two sleep. All snuggled up. Bette, do you know how lucky you are? Baby girl, do whatever you need to do, to keep Tina happy. She’s the one, you two are a match made in heaven. It shows in every way. Make sure she rests enough and gets better”

“I know Kit and it scares me, that I almost could’ve lost her today.”Realizing that made Bette cry again.

“Ohh hush baby girl, I didn’t mean to make you cry. Be thankful, she’s still here. We all should be thankful for that. And I think we all should see this like a wake up call. We should cherish what we have and be more focused on the persons around us because at the end of the day, that’s all that matters.”

Bette listened to Kit’s words and it calmed her. Being soothed by her sister was something that Bette cherished. That’s how Tina found the two sisters. She stood in the hallway and listened to what Kit was telling her sister.

“You know Bette, when I was younger and singing and was famous, I thought the world revolved around me. I thought that I was the most important person. I was walking on cloud nine. And then the drugs and booze set in and I lost everything. All the persons, the so called friends were gone because there was no money, no fame, nothing. That’s when I realised that family, being it blood or very good friends, is what matters. In that terrible time I got to know my true friends. And Bette for as far I didn’t thank you then, I want to thank you now for what you’ve done to me and for me. You’ve been there when everyone let me down. There are no words for me to describe what that meant to me. So I do know that you and Tina are the most important people in my life. Let nobody ever lay a finger on you two! And baby girl, be good to your wife, because she’s precious to me.”
