    Nobis Pacem Chapter 4

Alice clapped her hands, getting into it, “Oohh goody, a wedding in the family! I hope we’ll have more of a role, this time, over some parts of it ..”

Shane waved her hand dismissively in the air as she leaned back again on her chair and stretched her legs out, “Oh, Alice, it’s just like you to be worked up about the wedding part. All I know is I want to play a role in the baby’s life. A formal one … like a godmother or something. Bette and Tina gave those roles to other people for TJ, you know, and …”

Helena raised her hand, “like me, for example?”

    Wedding?

    Baby?

I guess my eyes were bugging out because Aerin had to blow a whistle using her fingers between pursed lips to quiet the three friends who were now all talking at the same time about one topic or the other or both.

    The chattering stopped.

“Oh, you don’t think you girls are getting married?” Helena asked with an arched eyebrow.

“They keep yammering about the wedding. As I keep saying, at the very least, the hotness and electricity between you two guarantees a baby, at some point,” Shane drawled. “It’s the law. When two prime, crème de la crème humans get together, they procreate. The species demands it.”

I cleared my throat. The thought of having a baby with Aerin was an unimaginable turn-on, I had to admit, but,

“Don’t you think one of us has to have the right …” I started to say.

Aerin swung to look at me with a thoroughly surprised look, and mouthed, are you going along with this? Seriously?

Helena waved her hands dismissively and then handed Aerin a chocolate chip cookie, “logistics.”

“There is no man on earth who will not be willing to contribute his junk to seed an egg from either one of you, trust us on this,” Alice added as she drained her coffee.

Aerin held her hands up and said firmly, “Hold it. Hold it with all the wedding and baby talk, please…”

    Shane smirked, “Making you nervous?”

“We haven’t even …” Aerin tried to continue.

Helena reached to pull one of her forearms and then said gently, “Honey, we were just teasing you. You take your time with Harley, please. It’s important for the two of you that you do. Although we can’t see how you girls can hold out much longer…”
