They looked quickly at Annie and then at Katy, and understood.
After a quick round of introductions, Shane took a seat on the bench Katy was sitting in while Helena sat on a cushioned stool next to the love seat.
I asked Shane drily about what trouble she’d gotten into with Helena this morning after they each took a sip from the ice water Harley had handed each of them.
Helena laughed out loud as Shane muttered, “shut up, british person.”
In an effort to shift the focus away from the subject, Shane looked my way and asked, “So, what time do you think you’ll show up in the club later?”
Annie sat up and asked sharply, “There a party going on somewhere?”
Helena laughed lightly, “Not exactly. We have a couple of girl bands playing in the club I partly own, up in West Hollywood.”
I added, “And one of our friends just put together a girl band that’s playing.”
“Ooohhhh, a lezzie bar?” Annie asked, with an excited gleam in her eye. “I have been dying to go to one. Everyone says the best bars in LA are up there. Could we come, too?”
“But aren’t you having a bachelorette thing tonight, Annie?” Katy asked.
Harley cut in and asked sharply, “Is that tonight Katy?”
Katy nodded. “Thad’s sister wanted to have it tonight because Annie’s cousins wanted to do a family thing tomorrow night.”
Annie swatted Katy’s protests away, “We’re just having that Chippendale-type guy come, right?”
“But I thought we were doing …” Harley started to ask.
“Just because you’re marrying a Chippendale-type guy doesn’t mean the rest of us don’t want to enjoy someone like him for just one night, Annie,” Katy cut in nervously. It sounded like she was the one responsible for booking the act for the night.
“Maybe the rest of you … but not Harley. Since she had the Chippendale-type guy before I did,” Annie answered caustically, and shot a glance at Harley.
I looked quickly Harley’s way. Helena and Shane flitted their glances from Annie to Harley to me to Katy, sensing drama coming.
Harley licked her lips and nodded, looking at me, “Yeah, I dated Thad way back when. We were just freshmen then, and we dated for barely a year.”

wow! Did not see that coming. Aerin cannot make that decision alone. Must communicate with Harley. They can always move back East and be under the “protection” of the other girls.
Does ANNIE thinks AERIN is alone?Can’t wait for JULES/DIANE to mop the floor w her for what she is trying to do
Hi, yes, hoping to fix this. A bit tricky. Plus, wasn’t happy with the structure of what I drafted so thought I should take a step back first, clear the muck in my mind out, etc. and start with a clean screen. It will be the last chapter and I have to get through a lot, so want to be sure it not only concludes the story well, but flows, too. Thanks for reading.
