The Secret of Kew Garden Hills
“What do you feel like doing now?” Shea said. She looked so pretty tonight, and Shea didn’t even really have to try. It wasn’t fair. Her big chestnut eyes were waiting for an answer. Ashley knew she wouldn’t mind taking her home but really wasn’t sure. How many times has she gotten physical too early, only to find out it was the wrong person, too late. Every time. Ashley smiled. “Is something funny? Are you going to stand there silently and just watch me or give me an answer?” Shea said. “Maybe I should just go home.”
“No. I’m sorry. Don’t go home. Please. Every place is really crowded around here on Saturday nights. Do you want to come over for a bit?” Ashley said. Still thinking through the three glass of wine buzz from dinner, Ashley was wondering, even though she basically knew, that asking Shea to come over now meant she would be there in the morning. But it beat lying there alone wondering what Rina was doing. Also, it was freezing, and, if nothing else, Ashley would feel bad sending her back out into the cold winter night. Then again, she might not want to stay. Wow, Ashley really hated herself sometimes for not letting things just happen, and overanalyzing even the smallest moments that should be enjoyable.
“Sure,” Shea said, in her even tone. “Any movies on demand we can rent?” Ok, Ashley felt better about giving the invitation to her house a small goal.
“I’m sure there is something we can agree on,” Ashley smiled, and took her gloved hand. Do I like her, or am I just lonely? I like her enough if I keep agreeing to see her. She hasn’t done or said anything that makes me not want to see her, yet…but she still didn’t make her feel the way Rina did.
The two girls walked hand in hand to Ashley’s apartment, and if anyone noticed, they didn’t really care. Ashley lived in a walk up. Shea needed to walk slowly up the stairs in her high-heeled boots, which Ashley had to admit, were pretty sexy. Was she humorless and boring? Or is she one of those people you need to get to know before her true personality comes out? Ashley hated aloofness, and more than that, dullness. Rina appeared to be a challenge. Stop thinking about Rina! Ashley said to herself. Still, Ashley would much prefer a below average looking girl with an amazing personality that she can grow attracted to over this pretty girl that might not have depth. But Ashley also had a bad habit of not giving people a chance, and then regretting it later, so she was going to do things differently this time.

Very sweet story. Now will Rina and Ashley become a couple? Or is this just a short term dallance? A married woman with two children in a religiously conservative family and community is going to be a hard environment to escape. Its a wonder she has computer access.
