    Ashley reunites with old friends

    “I’m so excited for you to meet them! You’re going to love them.”

    “Tell me about them.”

    “Matt is, like, an actual genius. He graduated from Harvard when he was like, 20 or something; but he’s hilarious and so normal… and such a good bassist. Ben looks like a California surfer-dude but he’s from Canada, and he’s the nicest guy you’ll ever meet. You can talk to him about anything. He and I used to smoke a lot of pot and then have these deep, intellectual conversations, like every night when we toured together.”

    “Sounds great,” I said jokingly.

    “Yeah… well… Ben was the only person I ever told about you.”

    “Really?”

    “Yup.”

    “What did you tell him?”

    “To be honest? Everything. How we met, how much I loved you, everything that happened in London… how I still loved you. He used to tell me I was ridiculous for not calling you or trying to see you,” she explained.

    “Well I guess I like him already then.” She laughed in response.

    “They’re like family… both of them. And back in the day, I was probably closer to Ben than even, like, Jordan.”

    “You never…”

    “Definitely not,” she replied bluntly. “Not my type at all.” And with that, we arrived at the restaurant. The host immediately recognized Ashley and brought us to the table.

    “Ahhh!!” Ash yelled as soon as the guys came into view. She practically jumped on them while hugging. I stood there, kind of awkwardly for a few moments until she introduced me formally.

    “Guys, this is Spencer.”

    “Hey I’m Matt,” a scruffy, bearded guy with a deep voice said.

    “Spencer… nice to meet you,” I replied as we shook hands.

    “So this is the famous Spencer,” the other began as he took me in a hug. Ben was gorgeous, for a guy at least; he seemed to be really warm, and I definitely could see why Ash and him were friends. “Good to finally meet you in person.”

    “You too!” I responded, wondering whether that implied that Ashley had spoken of him before today, because she hadn’t.

    “God, I can’t believe it’s been so long,” Ashley said.

    “Well looks like someone was busy becoming a superstar,” Matt joked.

    “Yeah yeah,” she replied.

    2. Good to see an old-school fan fic writer back in action-not that I don’t enjoy the new stuff…it’s just that a familiar name is always welcome.

    3. Hmm, is this the calm before the storm? Nonetheless, I’m still loving this story and your writing. I’d like to apologize for not commenting on the last chapter. I still had food poisoning, which was just all kinds of wrong…not that it’s ever right, but I definitely know that a lack of comments can be a writer’s kryptonite. As always, looking forward to the next update. Holla!

For some reason I have this itch in me for the whole school to walk into Spencer’s room and she that she is sleeping with the hottest rockstar in the nation! lol, maybe cause that is what I wish would happen to me?? lol…great story!
