Aiden just stood there, leaning against the car. He was acting like this was just any other night. Ashley wanted to scream in frustration. She said good bye to the door man, as if she was completely carefree. He looked more than a little surprised by it. Aiden continued to be silent. He opened the car door for Ashley and as soon as she was safely inside, he shut it.
He had seen the inner turmoil on Ashley’s face. It couldn’t have been any clearer than if someone had taken a marker and written it on her forehead. Aiden wanted to say something to ease her nervousness but he wasn’t sure where to start. He opened his mouth and then closed it. After several minutes of him doing this Ashley took notice.
“What’s wrong with you? You look like some kind of goldfish.” She asked him, although somewhat distractedly.
Aiden thought about what the most tactful thing to say would be. He really had no idea. Instead he just forged ahead with as much honesty as he could muster.
“I was just wondering what I could say since its obvious your nervous…and a little scared.”
It was Ashley’s turn to look like a drowning goldfish. How does one respond to an accusation like that? Realization dawned on her. Answer it just like Aiden had poised it. With honesty. It’s not like she had anything to lose by being truthful to him.
“Well…fill me in on Spencer. She scares the be-Jesus out of me.” Aiden raised one eyebrow skeptically. What made Spencer so scary to her?
He must have voiced the question aloud because Ashley wasted not time in responding.
“What doesn’t make her scary? That she’s as close to perfectly beautiful as anyone will ever get? That she’s completely adorable without even trying? That when she does try she’s as hot as Hell? I don’t know what to say around her, or do. I mean, yesterday we had no problem talking but that was only for 5 minutes. What if it was some kind of fluke? What if…what if…”
Ashley started to hyperventilate. As much as Aiden wanted to laugh at Ashley for being ridiculous, he couldn’t. He began to rub her back, muttering sounds that supposedly were comforting. Ashley just leaned forward and shook her head. A look of pure panic was on her face. He quickly pulled into a parking spot along the road and turned Ashley to face him.

Yay! Milk duds. Well, we don’t get them here. I love Reeses cups, but we don’t get them here either. it’s depressing. We have Tim-tams though, and you guys don’t, so it all balances. Anyway, loved the update. Who hasn’t done that in a movie theatre? Or my first date with my first girlfriend in a normal theatre :) Awww, sweet. Now send them home to bonk.

Aw. You guys are super nice. I have things to say though. Goldfish CAN drown, if they’re not in water. (Duh! they drown in oxygen). Milk Duds suck. So Bad. I hate ’em and I’m glad at least one person agrees with me. And lastly, I’m so taking my time with the whole Spashley relationship. They most probably aren’t going to ‘bonk’ after their first ‘date’. But hey, hoping never hurt nobody. ;) I love you guys. People who comment are my favorite!
