A Different L: Episode 1 Part 2
Phil: I’ve asked Agent Fitz to take the rest of the day off. Here’s your sample.
Agent Phil Coulson of SHIELD hands the specimen sample over to Liz.
Liz: Thanks. Sorry about the-
Phil: No need to apologize. I know why you’re doing this. I take it Miss Kean is in the car waiting?
Liz: I think you know the answer to that.
Phil: I do. She also doesn’t look too happy having to wait outside.
Liz: I told her she didn’t have clearance.
Phil: And if you come here to our work place needing something like this done again, you won’t have clearance either. In fact, you probably shouldn’t have clearance at all now that we’re no longer working together. Plus, I was always wary of your task force considering you have one of the country’s most wanted criminals working with you.
Liz: I know, but it was a favor we had to call in. And we don’t talk. At least not anymore.
Phil: How’s Daisy?
Liz pauses for a moment.
Liz: She thinks you’re spying on her.
Phil: We try to keep a watchful eye. She’s an Inhuman and along with the metahumans in this city as well as external threats we keep pretty busy. We just want to make sure she’s safe.
Liz: She’s among friends. She’s happy.
Phil: I know. Powerful ones at that.
Liz: Okay, well we need to get to the Doctor’s office. Tell Jemma we said hello.
Phil smirks.
Phil: I’ll think about it.
Liz walks away, heading for the car where Barbara awaits.
Once in the car, Liz buckles the seat belt and Barbara turns the ignition and soon they are off, driving to the Doctor’s office.
Barbara: I still don’t see the big deal about me going inside.
Liz: For the same reason you weren’t allowed inside when I was at the FBI. I mean the FBI, SHIELD, all of these different bases and offices, you can’t just walk in.
Barbara: Unless you’re Raymond Reddington.
Liz: Barbara, please don’t mention his name again. The past year has been agonizing enough. Also, that’s not just something you say out loud.
Barbara: Oops.
Barbara gives a nonchalant shrug at the severity of such knowledge ever being leaked.
Liz: I’m serious.
