    A Different L: Episode 1 Part 2

Barbara: You can trust me, Liz.

Back at Oliver and Felicity’s home, Felicity looks at the various cameras set up throughout the town as well as any signals. At the moment, all is quiet on this day, but there is an image that gathers Felicity’s attention, causing her to bite her lower lip.

Next door to Felicity is the home of Barbara and Liz, who are neighbors and friends. Their backyard is dominated by a swimming pool. Felicity has noticed through one of the cameras another woman occupying one of the chairs near the pool itself. Felicity leaves the small former garage turned Arrowcave and walks outside toward the fence that mostly separates the properties. Part of the fence was replaced with a door. Opening the door, Felicity crosses over into Liz and Barbara’s backyard and sees her.

    Felicity: Hey, Jessica.

Jessica sees Felicity while still seated.

    Jessica: Oh. It’s you.

Felicity walks closer to where Jessica is.

Felicity: Why do Barbara and Liz even bother to let you come over and use their swimming pool if you’re never going to dive in?

Jessica: I dive in sometimes. Just not in the mood. Coming here sometimes just relaxes me a little.

Felicity takes a seat next to Jessica.

    Fellicity: Stressed out from work?

Jessica: The hell do you care?

Jessica’s attitude gives Felicity pause. She knows why Jessica occasionally acts like this towards her.

Jessica: …Sorry. I’m just in one of those moods.

    Felicity forces a smile.

Felicity: I thought you and I were okay.

Jessica looks over at Felicity, desperate to change the subject.

    Jessica: How was candyland?

Felicity: You mean the trip? It was… It was a nice convention. I’m glad to be back home. How’s Trish?

Jessica: Still on the air. Still getting by.

Felicity grins and nods, looking down for a moment. Jessica can see the guilt on her face.

    Jessica: Oh, don’t even.

    Felicity: What?

Jessica: You hook up with some trust fund dick and move in with him and you wanna give me that look?

Felicity: What are you talking about?

Jessica closes her eyes and shakes her head, refusing to look at Felicity.

Jessica: Just go. I don’t need this shit today.

Felicity slowly gets up from her seat and looks at Jessica who defiantly looks away.
