Tina’s brows cringle, and then she laughs when she realizes who’s most likely at the gate. ”Tell them to allow Alice Pieszecki up….”
Kevin smiles. ”Yes, ma’am…”
Tina laughs and shakes her head as she goes back to her salad……
Ten minutes later, Alice is escorted into the office by Kevin. She looks at the assistant and waves. ”Thank…”
Kevin nods politely and then walks out of the office.
Alice smiles and points behind her. ”Nice eye candy ya got there, Tina….”
Tina giggles. ”I haven’t noticed…”
Alice laughs. ”Oh, right, you’re one of the lezzie’s….” She then playfully narrows her eyes at Tina as she sits down. ”Unless something has changed over the years?”
Tina smirks and shakes her head. ”Absolutely not…” Tina dabs her mouth with her napkin. ”So, what do I owe this surprise visit?”
”Well… I’ve reached my quota for the week of dropping by Bette’s gallery… Shane pretty much shooed me out of the hair salon with a broom like I was a damn mouse…and Dana’s busy working out, so….”
Tina laughs. ”Well, lucky me….”
Alice laughs and then stares at Tina for a beat.
Tina smiles and shrugs. ”What?”
”Nothing, I’m just… I’m just really happy you’re back, TK; you’ve been missed….”
”Trust me, the feeling’s mutual….”
Alice sighs and dabs a small tear from her eyes. ”Oh, so I also stopped by to invite you out tomorrow night… There’s this fantastic band that Kit has on Saturday nights that never disappoints…”
”Oh, I don’t know. I have Angie, of course, and I haven’t had time to really look for a suitable babysitter or anything….”
Alice shrugs. ”So, ask Bette and Michelle for some recommendations…”
”Uh, I may think about asking Bette, but I don’t think her wife wants me asking her anything….”
Alice smiles. ”I guess that would be a little awkward, but come on, TK, you gotta come. We haven’t really hung out since you got back…”
”I know…. I’ll think about it…”
”Well, you know I’m gonna annoy you until you give in….”
Tina smiles. ”Still doing that, huh?”
Alice chuckles. ”Of course…” Alice then looks down at her watch. ”Shit, I gotta go. I can’t sit here chattin’ all day TK…. got a meeting to get to…”
