As soon as she got him she changed and went outside to check on Nero. He seemed to be excited to see her since she hadn’t been able to check in on him. It was getting kind of late so she figured Tina and Eli would be home by now but no one was answering at the beach house. As Nero was eating Bette went through all her mail when she heard her doorbell. Bette rushed over to her door figuring it had to be Tina and Eli. Bette started talking before she opened the door.
“Hey T baby I’ve missed you and Eli soo much. Why didn’t you call and …”
“Elizabeth. You are very hard to get a hold of.”
“Daddy…” Bette was staring at Melvin completely taken aback by her father’s presence.
Melvin was maintaining his cool demeanor and trying to disregard what he just heard. “Well Elizabeth are you going to let your father in?”
Bette seemed to snap out of it. “I’m sorry Daddy come in…what are you doing here?”
Melvin took a seat leaving Bette standing near the door.
“I’m here for your gallery opening. Didn’t you get my messages?”
Bette looked over at her answering machine with its flashing lights telling her she had a message. “Um no daddy, I haven’t had a chance to check my messages.”
“I’d imagine that your gallery opening has kept you very busy.”
As soon as Melvin finished talking Nero had walked in from the back. “No daddy that’s not…” Bette tried to cut Nero off from walking over and sniffing Melvin like he normally did with new people.
“Elizabeth what is that?”
Bette was trying to placate Nero, patting his head as she got him to lie down. “It’s a dog daddy.”
Melvin took a sterner tone. “Elizabeth don’t smart mouth me since when did you like dogs?”
A low growl could be heard from Nero. Bette put her hand on Nero trying to calm him down. “I’ve always liked dogs daddy, the only reason I don’t already have a dog is because I’m so busy.”

I am glad Bette finally told Melvin how she felt. I am happy there was no San Diego drama with Tina. Love Nero. I can’t wait for B&T to finaly be together…I am sure it will be hot.

Fantastic update once again! You really had Melvin down pat, and it’s awesome that Bette confronted him on his crap from the past! Finally Bette stood up to her father. I know how difficult that is for Bette, but she now knows how important it is to have Tina and Eli in her life. Loved the little teaser that you gave us at the beginning of the chapter.

Great update as always. Bout time Bette stood up to her father. Please make sure Bette keeps in mind that Tina can handle things, and be careful of not trying to handle things for her. I’m soooooooooooooooo looking forward to those two actually hooking up. Too cute about Bette being worried about Eli hearing.
Amazing post once again Toribio!!!! I loved the little heated ‘thing’ on the couch between B&T, so cute and realistic…………and the things Bette told Melvin was spot-on, really great writing. BUUUUT now you can’t hold that NC-17 back much longer LOL and I can’t wait. Post soon, I’m addicted.

I was kinda hoping that Tina and Eli would be arriving during Bette’s tirade to her father, thus hearing how she stood up to him for her family’s sake, but well, whatever direction you’re taking is great with me, so… I thought you did a great job with Melvin. Leaving some hopes about his decision while still having him in character. Well done! Loved the teaser, that’s very promising for the real thing ya know…;) This ending has me look forward to the reunion between B&T, so please post soon (with all due respect for your school work, it’s great enough to have you share this wonderful story!) GREAT update, I like most am glad that Bette finally stood up to Melvin and I believe that Melvin will make the right choice. I can hardly wait until Tina finds out, oh yeah it will be “T” time for Bette. I am looking to Eli meeting Melvin and standing up tall for both his mom and Bette. Poor Bette is soooooo missing her family that are trapped in San Diego while she is home alone. PPS :o)
