”Someone had a little to much to drink last night. I take it Myrtle drove you home safely because you were in no condition to be behind the wheel driving yourself” Bette said poking Alice in the ribs with her finger and giggling.

Alice swung her arm around and slapped at Bette.

”Fuck you Porter. Don’t you have paper to draw on or something” Alice responded slowly turning over on her side and opening her eyes. ”Damn! Turn off that fucking light”

”Alice the light isn’t even on. That’s the sun coming in from the window.” Bette corrected her  and shook her head.

”Well turn it off” Alice said throwing her hand over her eyes and groaning.

Bette walked over and shut the curtains then went into the kitchen to get some aspirin and a bottle of water and brought it back to Alice.

”I’m leaving you two aspirin and some water here on your nightstand. I’m going office and house hunting and I’ll bring you back something to eat ok..Take a shower and then sleep it off. Now call me you if you need anything…….like a new liver or something” Bette half joked as she rubbed Alice’s head and walked to the door.

”Thank you Mom” Alice said sarcastically and extended her middle finger at Bette.

”Love you too” Bette responded and chuckled as she walked to the front door and headed to her car.

After pulling out the office space and house listings and putting them in order of location, Bette started her Mercedes and headed toward her first stop.

Tina stretched and looked at the clock on her night stand and yawned as she saw the time and had to be at the hospital at 9am giving her an hour and a half to get ready. After taking a shower and throwing on her robe she walked in the kitchen and poured a cup of coffee before heading into the living room. Once there she stopped in front of a picture in a frame and grabbed it off the table to take a closer look. She smiled softly and put the picture back. Then after kissing her fingers she touched the glass of the frame with them and went back to her bedroom to dress.

Being alone had its advantages Tina thought but she was getting lonely and longed to find someone she could share her life with.  Dedicating her life to becoming a doctor was all she thought she needed after she lost the most important person in her life to cancer. Even though she couldn’t do anything at the time to save him she vowed to do everything in her power to save every life she could in his memory. But now she craved love and affection and someone she could come home to and just curl up with and forget everything else. She was ready for that but she didn’t know if they would be ready to accept her and the hours she kept at the hospital and also doing her research. It ruined her last relationship and she needed someone that would understand.

After slipping on her shoes and pressing out her scrub uniform with her hand, Tina walked through the foyer grabbing her keys off the stand and opened the closet door next to it. After locating her designs, she grabbed them and tucked them under her arm and closed the door on her way to her car.

”I’ll call Bette and see if she can go ahead and come look at the plans I have now and she can work on something to show me Sunday” She mumbled to herself as she reached for her cell phone and dialed Bette’s number.
