Harrison was fingering the wrist band on Dana’s left wrist curiously. It was Dana’s lucky wrist band, no doubt. The simple white Fila one that Dana had been wearing to all her important matches for as long as he could remember. The elasticity was gone, so it was barely gripping her small wrist. The Fila logo had faded to become several shades lighter and the outline was so blurred, you could barely make it out anymore. But now, there were some red markings on the side of the wristband that was facing inwards and he was trying to see what they were.
‘Harrison! What are you doing? Stop pulling my wristband!’ Dana frantically swiped away Harrison‘s hands from her precious wrist band.
‘There are red marks on the inside! What is it?’
Harrison could be so impossibly ***** at times. Which other male professional tennis player (straight, of course) would notice some red marks on the inside of their female doubles partner’s wristband?
‘Alright, alright’ Dana said in defeated tones as she slowly turned the wristband around such that the side that was facing inwards was now in full view.
Harrison couldn’t help bursting out in laughter once he saw the picture on the wristband drawn on using a red marker. It showed a smiley face with an outstretched waving hand and the words ‘GO DANA!’ above it. It wasn’t a fantastic drawing but there was no doubt who the smiley face represented.
Harrison looked at Dana, who was now tracing the outlines of the marker drawing with her index finger adoringly.
‘Oh *****!’ Dana’s loud exclamation resonated through the house.
‘What is it, baby?’ Alice came running into the room barely seconds later. She was just wondering what Dana was up to. It was unlike the athlete to go rushing into her bedroom without even putting down her tennis gear the moment she reached home.
‘I drew on my lucky wristband accidentally’ Dana looked forlorn as she showed Alice the red streak across the white Fila wristband.
‘Oh dear’ Alice wrapped her right arm around the athlete’s slim waist and gave it a squeeze. She knew how much the wristband meant to Dana. (The last time Alice posed the question ‘If your house was on fire and you could only save one thing, what would it be?’ to the gang, Dana had answered in a second ‘My lucky wristband’. ‘Not Mr. Piddles?’ Shane had asked quizzically, prompting an angry retort from Dana ‘Mr. P is not a THING, Shane.’)

Haha you’re back! I was planning to drive over to your place and swat you for the delay. But you’re safe now that you’ve posted. Great update, Dana being oblivious and Alice hiding her feelings were spot on. Of course it will never be complete with Yoda. I love the agnst, bring them on!

LMAO, mud-mud! Harrison and the Power Rangers figurine!? Ok, tell me which ranger? Your fic was loooonng overdue, but was definately worth the wait! Just make sure you don’t leave us hanging for much longer, otherwise ‘We’ll need dinosaur power, NOW!’ Yeah, I think I need to burn those figurines, now. Keep up the good work!
