Bette: (serious) “oh…, that girl the blonde who interrupted us, is she your girlfriend?”
Brenda: (smiling) “my girlfriend? No…, at least not yet…; isn’t she gorgeous? Well, of course, you are very beautiful… and kind…, and many of us would do anything to be your friend, but you’re very busy…, oh, I’m sorry”
Bette: (smiling) “that’s not true, I’m not unreachable, but you have a point, I’m very busy now, but perhaps in the summer camps and parties with all the employees, we could have some drinks together”
Brenda: “oh, Dr. Porter you are a very nice person”
Bette: “ha-ha, don’t call me Dr. just call me Elizabeth…, well I have to go Brenda and thanks for your answers”
Brenda: “have a nice evening Elizabeth”
Bette: “you too”
Tina left Brenda and Bette talking to seat in her table with her friends, she was quivering, her face was pale, she didn’t talk, five minutes later Brenda sat with them.
Maura: “what does she want?”
Brenda: “just asking some questions”
Maura: “what questions?”
Brenda: “that’s personal…, she is nice, Maura, she was very kind to me”
Maura: “so you’re gonna sleep with her”
Brenda: “what…? No, of course, not, and Tina, don’t believe all that Maura says, Elizabeth Porter is not a bad person”
Tina didn’t answer, and at that moment two girls entered the café and went directly to their table.
Dana: “hey, Tina”
Tina: “Dana, thanks for coming, I haven’t seen you in two weeks”
Dana: “this is my friend Lara Perkins”
The girls made the introductions and now the eight girls sit together to chat, eat and drink.
Went Bette left Brenda, she turned to her table noticing that everybody there was looking at her, they were silent, and then she sat.
Helena: “what does Brenda say?”
Bette: “Melvin contacted her, but she didn’t go to talk to him, she fears him…, Alice, have you seen the blonde who came to Brenda and me?”
Alice: “yeah…, I think everybody here saw her”
Bette: “I mean, do you know her, does she work in the Bureau?”
Bette: “since when?”
Alice: “two weeks ago”
Bette: “how is that I don’t know?”
Alice: (shrugging her shoulders) “don’t ask me, you never came to the interviews and training of the new workers”
