Blueprints—Chapter 10
She closed her eyes for a moment taking it in until she felt a hand position itself around her back. She opened them turning her head slightly to take in Bette’s comforting smile
“Thank you for being here with me”
“Of course” Bette replies assuredly
Tina sighs “I can’t believe I’m here. I have always told myself that visiting his grave would be final. Like I’m saying goodbye”
Bette gives Tina’s back a comforting rub
“Tina. I don’t know what it’s like to lose a child. But I do know loss. And one thing I have learned is that you never really say goodbye. They will always be with you. In your heart… and in the memories you hold of them. We can’t choose when it’s our time to leave and it may not seem fair that our loved ones were taken too early or understand the why’s of it. But I believe they are still with us even though we can’t see them. We can still feel them…And the work you are doing through your foundation. It was all possible because of him”
Tina listened as they walked closer to the spot were Jacob was laid to rest. She knew in her mind Bette was right but heart couldn’t quite understand. It would never understand as they came to a stop. Tears began to fall as Tina fell to her knees in front of Jacob’s headstone as she placed the bouquet across the base.
Bette knelt beside her placing a hand on Tina’s shoulder as Tina sobbed uncontrollably. It was tearing Bette up inside to watch Tina in so much pain but knew it was best for her to let it all out as she knew she had been holding all her emotions in for the last 15 years. It was time for her to start healing the wound left from Jacob’s passing.
“My Ba…My Baby b..boy” Tina managed to say as she fell into Bette’s embrace. Her cries breaking through the peacefulness of their surrounding.
“Let it out…Let it all out” Bette said softly as she slowly rocked a sobbing Tina in her arms as they stayed that way for awhile
A little while later at The Kennard’s

So glad you are back!! What an emotional release for Tina. So glad she had Bette to lean on. I really like this story and this couple. I can almost feel Tina’s exhaustion. Did I say I like this story?
jlr,
Upon seeing the title, started rubbing my hands with glee . . . u’re back!! And then I scrolled down to see how many pages and at 1st thought that “only” 7 wouldnt satisfy.
But after Tina’s unplanned visit to visit Jacob, and the collapse of the heart that her “baby boy” was gone, I count my blessings and you wont be hearing any adolescent wining from me!! NO Siree!!
Very nice to see this continuation….. I too like this story. Rather emotional to have Tina grieve as she did. I hope that she and Bette are ready to be life long companions with each other rather than substituting work in the place of a relationship. I like the parents – Tina’s mom is a little neurotic, but once she sees Tina, maybe some of this nervous anxiety will go away….It looks like all are in for a nice Thanksgiving….
Thanks for the update…. hope to see more in the near future…
Hello, so glad to see you updating this fic. This was such an emotional chapter, but Tina needed to get some of her feelings out. Glad Bette was there for her. I hope Tina’s mom did not invite her ex for Thanksgiving. I think that would make her regret coming home. I’ll be waiting for your other updates whenever you are able to post them.
Never thought of the ex showing up. Ugh!

What a emotinal time for Tina, grieving for her son and Bette was there to support her. They are a good couple together.
