Alice turns her head to Bette and smiles flipping her shades down to her nose exposing her bloodshot eyes. Bette quickly glances at her taking in her hungover expression and smirks turning her eyes back onto the road
“I met someone last night. She is a friend of Shane’s and she’s so perfect and gorgeous. She brought me home last night”
Bette raises her eyebrow “Oh really. I didn’t even hear you come in”
“Of course. I’m stealth like you know”
Bette scoffs
“So who is the woman that has caught your attention?”
“Her name is Dana Fairbanks” Alice sighs happily
“So I take it you will be seeing her again?” Bette asks inquisitively
“Well I am hoping. We did exchange numbers after our steamy kiss in her car. The kind that fogs up the windows” Alice says pushing her shades back over her eyes
“I don’t know Alice…That may not be a good idea” Bette says with a devious smile
Alice whips her head quickly toward Bette and winces at the pounding she forgot was taking place in her head at the moment
“Owwww…What do you mean?” She asks rubbing her forehead
“Well Myrtle won’t like you spending time with another woman in her presence”
Alice shifts in her seat
“Oh my God Bette!…I didn’t think of that!”..I will have to have a serious talk with Myrtle if things progress with Dana. She is going to blow her gasket when she finds out”
“Jesus Al….Get a grip. I was only kidding” Bette sighs shaking her head in annoyance mostly at herself for bringing it up in the first place
“No!…You are right Bette!…Myrtle is going to sling a rod and may never let me drive her again..Bette you have seen how jealous she can be and you and I aren’t even together and she still hated you ”
“Alice?” Bette said calmly
Alice tries to catch her breath “What?”
“It was because I didn’t like Myrtle to begin with. Maybe she will take differently to someone who doesn’t hate her” Bette said feeling crazy herself for what had just came out of her mouth but better to pacify Alice then to have her in freak out mode
Alice thought for a minute “You know. You are probably right. You didn’t exactly do yourself any favors being bitchy to Myrtle”
Bette rolled her eyes as she came upon the address to the office and pulled into the empty parking lot coming to a stop near the front entrance.
“I didn’t even ask how you date was “ Alice said as they both stepped out of the car
“It wasn’t a date” Bette retorted walking to the door and opening it with the key. She steps inside followed by Alice who swipes at spider web on the side of the door
“Well date or no date you spent time with her.” Alice says and pauses raising an eyebrow at Bette..”Alone mind you”
Bette scoffed “It was business Alice” she said with a firm tone not wanting to share with Alice any of what Tina revealed to her today. It wasn’t exactly her place to tell and since it took a lot for Tina to confide something so personal and devastating to her she wasn’t going to betray her trust
Alice rolled her eyes “Whatever you say Porter. I’m still on the TiBette train”
“Well in that case then please keep your caboose in line and mind your own business” Bette says tapping Alice once on the ass with her hand.
Alice gasps and shakes her head and watches as Bette spent the next several minutes carefully running her hands over the walls, surveying the floor, adjoining rooms and inspecting the exterior before going back inside and turns to see Alice behind her standing with her arms folded
“Well? Does it meet thy Master’s approval?” Alice says and performs a curtsy
Bette rolls her eyes “Why yes my young apprentice. I do believe we have found ourselves an office to do thy bidding”
“Great!..I’m starved!” Alice says grabbing Bette by the shoulders patting them once with her hands before releasing her grip “Let’s roll” she says quickly heading for the door
Bette takes one last look around and smiles before following Alice out and locking the door behind her.

I’m really liking this…. So Tina and Bette are married to their work…. funny banter. Really funny when Bette says that the kiss on the cheek might make Tina spouse jealous especially in her presence.
They are beginning to be attracted to one another… both professionals. I just hope that they do have time to have a real relationship which is binding and long term. With Tina’s promotion to Chief of Staff and a new research center, there are going to be high demands on her time. And Bette just beginning a new architectural firm is going to be time consuming as well. And they are both so young, with many prime working years ahead. This works for some, but it is difficult. I hope they do well…

It does seem a stretch for Bette and Tina to build a relationship when they are in a sense married to their work. Really it’s because they have nothing on the outside worth trying to balance their lives until now. Without giving too much away I think you will enjoy how they go about trying to build their relationship and incorporate it into their busy lives.

Liking this story. Alice is so funny. Calling them TiBette and shipping them is just hilarious. “Alice shakes her head “Never!..I’m totally shipping you two..Long live TiBette!” Just great! And Dana is in the story. I hope Peggy is going to make it. Somehow I think Helena may make an appearance. Is she does – stay away from Tina! Maybe Bette will go visit Peggy. Tina and Bette are really cute together. Very sweet. I like your version of them very much. They both seem well suited for their professions. Maybe they can fit a little love and romance in around their busy lives? Alice already sees it. Looking forward to more.

I can assure you that Helena- if she does appear in this story- will have nothing to do with Tina other than to deal with her as her mother’s doctor. I hope that eases your anxiety..lol

This is a fantastic story!!! I read a it when you posted it before. I loved it then too.
I am not a Alice fan but in this story she is hilarious.
The teasing and fun Bette and Tina had was a pleasure to read. Tina already trust Bette enough to tell her about Jacob, a good sign. And they share their Birthday, who would have thought about that, they have a lot in commen and i am with Alice, i root for Tibette! Now they have to talk with their spouses so that they can take steps to built a relationship ;)
Loved the chapter, I’m glad to know that this fic is already finished. I will be waiting with baited breath for each new chapter. I am excited about reading this in it’s entirety including the sequel and anything else you want to write for us. Please post soon.
This is a fun story to read. Shows us again that what ever the circumstances, professions or life style these two will find each other. Here’s to Bette designing the medical center of Tina’s dreams and here’s to Tina for opening her heart to a new relationship with Bette. So nice to watch from the sidelines. The little chit chat on the picnic was cute. And glad Tina felt at ease enough to tell Bette about her son.
Cute they share same bday. My wife and I are a week apart. But not same age. 16 years younger than me.
