Can we get it back – Chapter 32

“Hi, I’m Dr. Ethan Scott. She is being monitored right now. We’ve just managed to wake her up.” Dr. Scott starts.

“She’s is getting CT scan and MRI of her head as we speak. I’ve also paged her doctor for the treatment she’s currently doing, just so we don’t do anything to set that back.” Dr. Scott says.

“When can we see her?” Tina asks.

“It will be an hour or so. We need to do the scans and then some tests, just to make sure we don’t miss anything.” Dr. Scott replies.

“Okay, good. Will someone come for us when we can see her?” Tina asks, putting her arm around Angie’s shoulders.

“Off course. I’ll get one of the nurses to come get you. We will put her in her own room as soon as the testing is done.” Dr. Scott shares.

“Thank you.” Tina says with a nervous smile. The doctor leaves the room again and Tina and Angie sit back down.

One hour later, a nurse enters the room to bring them to Bette.

“Hi, I’m nurse Holly Ross, I’m here to take you to Bette’s room.” The nurse says and motions with her hand to follow.

“How is she?” Tina asks ash they follow.

“She’s stable. The doctor is waiting for you in her room.” The nurse explains.

    “Okay, good.” Tina replies.

They reach the door of the room and nurse Holly opens it up for them to enter.

Tina moved her hand to cover her mouth when she sees Bette laying in the bed, so vulnerable.

“Hi, Dr. Scott, how is she?” Tina asks, walking up to the bedside and looks lovingly down on Bette.

“She’s sleeping right now. We did scans, and they all look good. No damage was made by the fall.” Dr. Scott explains.

“But what caused her to pass out? Was it just because she stood up to fast? Or a side effect of the treatment?” Tina asks curiously.

“None of the tests we’ve done explains it, so it might have been because she stood up too fast.” Dr. Scott replies.

“So, when will she wake up?” Tina asks.

“We gave her a little cocktail to get her to rest. So, she’ll be sleeping for a few hours at least.” Dr. Scott says.

    1. Well, this was unexpected…. at least no new growth of the cancer. But fainting and the inability to awaken her by either Tina or EMTs is really troubling particularly since the bump on the head caused no damage. The irregular breathing and pulse rate are troubling as well.

During this nausea bouts, one should always have a handy dandy garbage pail available. Sprinting to the bathroom is usually not an option.

Hope Bette is okay…. post again soon…

      • Agree. Sitting and standing too quickly and ensuing dizziness and possible fainting makes sense. But Bette’s unresponsiveness and irregular breathing is not nothing. Something is really amiss.

    2. You just couldn’t help yourself to put a little more drama for our Bette! I was worried when Bette didn’t awake after her fall but it is positive that after the scans has been taken it showed no growth of her tumor. But the irregular breathing and pulse rate are not a good sign, that must be checked out.

    3. Bette’s irregular heartbeat and breathing is troubling along with hitting her head. Hopefully, it truly was just standing too quickly. They need to make sure there’s a trashcan close by to avoid Bette having to move too much.
