    “Take My Hand, Take My Whole Life Too”
    One giant leap…

    At this point Jess was yelling.

    Jess: Wasnt it??

    Bette: yes.

    Jess: I told her that I loved her. I loved her so much that I agreed to stay hidden in the shadows so as not to disrupt her perfect shot at fame. Well one night I went to Bettes apartment as planned for dinner. I let myself in with the key she had given me and found not Bette, but a note. A ***** note! She said she wasnt ready and she was sorry. Sorry! Thats all you could say was ***** sorry. She disappeared for a while leaving me no way to contact her. The next thing I new Bette was a bright rising star on the great white way and I was nothing to her. I even stood outside the theatre one night hoping to just catch your eye. I thought if you saw me then youd remember how you felt. You just walked by me! Like I was invisible. But I guess I was invisible. All youve ever been able to see was your stupid ***** career! Well I wasnt going to let that happen to Tina. I heard about the two of you and I made it my mission to make sure she wouldnt get burned by you.

    Tina sat shaking on the bed, Jess crying in the corner and Bette cowering in the shadows. This was not at all how this night was supposed to go.

    Bette: Im gonna go.

    Bettes voice was shaky with tears.

    Tina: Wait.

    Bette turned but not before wiping her eyes.

    Tina: Bette, I dont know what happened between the two of you. And Jess Im sorry she hurt you. Really I am. But Bette, youre here. You came here tonight.

    Bette: I wasnt going to.

    Jess: You were gonna run like you always do.

    Bette: You have no idea what I was going to do Jess so shut up.

    Jess sat down on the bed. Tina had been standing and was now walking toward Bette.

    Tina: Why did you come here Bette? I need you to be honest. Were you coming to say goodbye?
