Tina thought for a moment.
Tina: I dont care Peggy. I just want to be with Bette. If it means I have to share her thats fine, I just need to know she is coming home to me every night and world knows it.
Peggy: Ok, just prepare yourself. This bumpy road has just begun.
With that Tina felt a soft hand take hers and she looked down to find it was Bette.
Tina: How are you doing? You hanging in there?
Bette: Yeah actually, its not as bad as I thought it would be.
Peggy: Just remember the press hasnt gotten wind yet. When they do this is going to be a very different ball game. But you always have me on your side Bette.
Bette: Thank you. But if you dont mind, Peggy, Id like to take my girlfriend home now.
Peggy: I understand. Have fun you two!
Peggy pulled them both to her in a tight embrace.
Peggy: Why couldnt my ***** head for a daughter be more like you girls?
Tina: Peggy remember what I said, speaking ill of her will not help.
Peggy: yes I know, I know!
Tina grasped Bette hand with every ounce of strength she had and walked her off the boat.
Bette: So? Happy?
Tina: Very. You?
Bette: More than I can express in words.
Tina leaned into Bettes ear and whispered.
Tina: I have a better way for you to express it.
Bette: Oh yeah? Im listening.
The two laughed and began the long walk back.
Bette: Were you really going to sleep with her?
Tina: Huh?
Bette: Jess. Were you going to sleep with her?
Tina: I dont think we should talk about it Bette. It doesnt matter. What matters is that I am walking down the streets of New York City holding your hand.
The two finished the walk to Bettes place in silence enjoying each others company.
Bette placed the key in her door and slowly turned the *****. Tina placed her hand on the small of Bettes back. Bette turned and took Tinas wrist pulling her inside and quickly closing the door.
Bette: I think I can handle being out but I do draw the line at the world watching me make love to you.
Tina smirked.
