    “About five years ago. I was an executive at Disney. I was on the panel that selected the Porter Art Gallery as one of our official authorized dealers.”

    “Yes of course. Emma Rothman. How could I forget? You also arranged for the children from the youth center to have a day at Disney. It’s so good to see you again. It’s been years.” Bette extended her hand to shake and Emma held it with both of hers. They smiled and held each other’s gaze.

    “How’ve you been? Bette asked breaking the hypnotic stare but still enjoying the contact of her right hand being held by both of Emma’s.

    “Never better. You look amazing. The years have been good to you.”

    “Thank you. You look good too. Are you still with Disney?” Bette asked.

    “No. I left a few years ago to finish my doctorate in Counseling Psychology specializing in Art Therapy. I have my own practice here in West Hollywood.”

    Emma let go of Bette’s hand to fish into her purse for a business card then handed it to Bette.

    “You’re a therapist?”

    “Yes but I’d rather date you than analyze you.” Emma smiled and winked at Bette’s astonished expression.

    Bette blushed but soon recovered and assessed the slightly taller brunette standing in front of her. She remembered Emma was very flirty and had a wonderful sense of humor.”

    “You might change your mind about that once you get to know me.” She quipped back, only half joking as her self-esteem had taken a beating lately.

    “That’s doubtful Ms. Porter but I do apologize. I’m being rude. I didn’t mean to interrupt you and your friends. I was sitting at the bar near several women that were literally drooling over you. When I recognized who you were and saw your sister Kit I decided to say hi, but I couldn’t resist joining in on the teasing.”

    “No need to apologize. Seems my being ‘meat tagged’ has become fodder for everyone’s humor tonight. If I have to be referred to as a piece of meat then Filet Mignon it is.”

    “You’re being a real sport, but seriously I would love to get together and catch up sometime.”

    1. Thanks so much for this chapter Bat; I see here that Bette is still like ‘I have nothing to do with Tina’s problems’. She is a little worry for knowing nothing from her ex, but that’s all. They were together for 7 years, and Bette doesn’t acknowledge any responsibility in their break out (personally I think Bette is in denial), as if everything was just Tina’s doing. I like the possibility of Bette dating a psychologist (she needs help in that department). It’s curious now that I see after ten chapters, on one side Tina feels very guilty, suffocated and alone and in the other side Bette feels the opposite than Tina, a victim, ready to let go and wrapped and protected by her friends. I don’t want to take sides with any of them but I feel a little unfairness in this relationship I don’t know if it is the cause or consequence of their dysfunction or if it is just part of it. Thank you again, I like so much you story, it makes me think on their situation; and I’m very captivated to know where you are taking us, I’m wanting eagerly for your next update.

Hello there BAT,been a long time,glad to see you posting again.Synopsis of what i understand so far,TINA/BETTE are having problems and broke up(not good)TINA then decides not to go the toy route but the real mccoy(so not good)Then she decides to date HENRY(major turn-off)and engages in hide the banana(i’m feeling squeemish)with this guy but pines for BETTE(therapyanyone?)BETTE is still hoping and not hoping to reconsile with her wife(ahemm),so now we have total dysfunction.Can TINA get her self together or will BETTE continue towards moving on?Talking is a little late for BETTE if she wants TINA to listen to what she has to say even if TINA does talk the shame alone of what she has done will drive her further away i think, but your story and like everyone else i too will wait. BE SAFE and hurry back.THANKS,
