    “What do you have in mind?”

    “Last time we spoke he told me that his son Chris was showing some artistic talent. Chris is eight so he’s old enough to participate in our programs. If Marcus teaches a class he can bring Chris along.”

    “I’m sure they will both love it. What kid doesn’t want to go to sleep away camp?”

    “That’s what I’m hoping but don’t say anything about it to Marcus. I want to ask him myself when I see him.”

    “You got it Boss.”

    “Thanks Michael.”

    “Bette have you spoken to Peggy yet?”

    Bette knew Michael wanted to know if she’d told Peggy about the breakup with Tina.

    “I’ve spoken to her but I haven’t told her anything about the breakup Michael. I feel so bad keeping this from her, since she is anxiously awaiting news of the baby. I don’t have the heart to tell her that we’re not together anymore, and there won’t be a baby. I can’t do that over the phone or in an email.”

    “She’s won’t be back for 9 months Bette.”

    “I know Michael and I hate keeping this from her but I have to.”

    “I understand. I think you are right about not discussing it on the phone or in email, but nevertheless she’s going to be furious that you didn’t tell her. How are you holding up? Have you heard from Tina yet?”

    “Not a word. No one’s seen or spoken to her for weeks; not even Alice. I’m beginning to worry. I hope she’s alright.”

    “I’m sure she’s fine. Maybe she’s just taking some time to herself.”

    “I suppose but I want to see her before I leave for New York. If I don’t hear from her this week I’m going to call her. She can’t keep me hanging like this. I need to know where we stand.”
    Michael didn’t know what to say. He got up and told Bette he would make the calls she’d asked him to, and download the appointments to her calendar once confirmed. When he left her office Bette leaned her head back into the comfortable leather reclining office chair and closed her eyes. The fact that she hadn’t heard anything from Tina in the six weeks since she’d been back from the silent retreat spoke volumes, but she still held some hope that maybe they had a chance at working things out between them.

    1. Thanks so much for this chapter Bat; I see here that Bette is still like ‘I have nothing to do with Tina’s problems’. She is a little worry for knowing nothing from her ex, but that’s all. They were together for 7 years, and Bette doesn’t acknowledge any responsibility in their break out (personally I think Bette is in denial), as if everything was just Tina’s doing. I like the possibility of Bette dating a psychologist (she needs help in that department). It’s curious now that I see after ten chapters, on one side Tina feels very guilty, suffocated and alone and in the other side Bette feels the opposite than Tina, a victim, ready to let go and wrapped and protected by her friends. I don’t want to take sides with any of them but I feel a little unfairness in this relationship I don’t know if it is the cause or consequence of their dysfunction or if it is just part of it. Thank you again, I like so much you story, it makes me think on their situation; and I’m very captivated to know where you are taking us, I’m wanting eagerly for your next update.

Hello there BAT,been a long time,glad to see you posting again.Synopsis of what i understand so far,TINA/BETTE are having problems and broke up(not good)TINA then decides not to go the toy route but the real mccoy(so not good)Then she decides to date HENRY(major turn-off)and engages in hide the banana(i’m feeling squeemish)with this guy but pines for BETTE(therapyanyone?)BETTE is still hoping and not hoping to reconsile with her wife(ahemm),so now we have total dysfunction.Can TINA get her self together or will BETTE continue towards moving on?Talking is a little late for BETTE if she wants TINA to listen to what she has to say even if TINA does talk the shame alone of what she has done will drive her further away i think, but your story and like everyone else i too will wait. BE SAFE and hurry back.THANKS,
