    Dana approaches and Alice points towards her.

    (Alice) You’re not sitting with us, you’re down with Helena and Sarah

    (Dana) What?

    Shane shakes her head and Bette sighs and rubs her forehead.

    (Shane) Al, it’s her birthday, can she just sit wherever the fuck she wants?

    Alice raises her hands.

    (Alice) Fine, Dana you can swap places with me I guess

    She gestures towards Bette.

    (Alice) But you two need to keep an eye on her

    Bette frowns at her as Alice stands and moves further down the table.

    They are all seated around the table as a member of the wait staff moves around taking their orders and another tops up their wines. Once the staff have moved away they settle into different conversations as they sip on their drinks.

    After a short while, Bette looks down the table and catches Tina’s eyes, and they hold each other’s gaze for a long moment. Tina then stands from her chair and makes her way down the table. She positions herself opposite Bette and they smile at each other.

    (Tina) Hi

    (Bette smiles) Hi

    Tina nods towards the other end of the table.

    (Tina) Do you want to be introduced? It might be a bit less weird than whatever Alice has planned to keep you apart all night at a dinner of seven people

    Bette gives a small laugh and they look at each other affectionately.

    (Bette) Sure

    Bette stands from her chair and Tina steps around the table and stands alongside her. They move together back to the other end of the table, and Tina gestures towards Helena and Sarah as they come to a stop in front of them.

    (Tina) Bette this is Sarah, and I believe you’ve now met Helena

    Bette and Helena smile at each other and Sarah stands from her chair. Bette extends her hand over the table and Sarah takes it and smiles at her.

    (Sarah) Hi Bette

    (Bette) Hi, it’s nice to meet you

    Sarah smiles and nods.

    (Sarah) Tina’s filled me in on what’s happening. I’m sorry, it all must be very difficult, and stressful for you

    (Bette nods) Thank you. They expect it’s temporary and shouldn’t last too much longer, so everything should be back to normal soon

    1. Wow, what a great chapter. This Bette is very observant. Even though I want them to go further, I hope they stop and Tina has an honest conversation with Sara. Thanks for another chapter.
