    Chapter 10 – Big Bear Mountain – Day 2

Tina: Well, that’s good to know. Has everyone had enough breakfast? I can whip up some more eggs and toast if you need some more?

Daniel:  No, this was excellent. I’m going to go get a shower and dress. How much time do I have?

Bette:  I think we will get started in about an hour to an hour and a half. It will take about an hour to get to the lake and then we will have a mid-morning break. Then we will start around the lake. You will need you sun glasses as the sun reflects off the water. We will have lunch on the other side of the lake and then come back around in the early afternoon. Then we will start back to the cabin about 2:30 or 3:00. Hopefully we will be back by 5:00 pm.  Hopefully we can have dinner by 6 or 7. I want to get in the jacuzzi at some point this weekend. But it needs to heat up before we can get in and that takes at least an hour, maybe more.

Tina:  If it rains tonight, you won’t see me in the jacuzzi.

Bette:  That is what I’m afraid of. The rain which is coming.

Tina: Well, you know, we do have a jacuzzi at home?  We just haven’t used it yet.

Bette:  I know. But there is something about sitting in a jacuzzi and looking out over the forest and the lake and relaxing my legs just seems appealing.

Tina:  Well, let’s see how this afternoon goes.  You know, you may be so worn out, you may have trouble getting in and out of that jacuzzi.

Bette: You have a point. That would be terrible. I be stuck until you could get some help to get me out. I’d either be par boiled or frozen. I certainly would be a big prune.  All wrinkles.

Tina (laughed): We are not going to let that happen. Come on, let’s get ready to go. Are you going to take a shower?

Bette:  No, I don’t think so. I didn’t move last night. I’ll take one when we get back. Let me go fold the towels and then I’ll get the kitchen. You go ahead and take one if you like. I am going to pack the back packs. Oh, no need for an extra sweater. But I still want everyone to have an extra pair of socks. Dress in layers so that you can add and shed as you need it.
