    Chapter 11

    She raises an eyebrow at Tina who smiles back at her.

    (Tina) Yes, I suppose I could have

    Bette smiles at her and has a sip of wine.

    (Bette) You realise that this revelation means I am free to tease Helena about the Nepalese jail

    Tina laughs.

    (Tina) Shit, I guess it does

    They continue smiling at each other.

    (Tina) Try to go easy on her, it’s a touchy subject

     

    The next day, The Planet, Bette arrives and approaches Alice who is sitting at their usual table.

    Alice looks up as Bette takes a seat opposite her.

    (Alice) I’ve been trying to get hold of you all week

    (Bette) I know, I’m sorry, I’ve been run off my feet

    (Alice) Well I wanted to tell you I spoke to your mystery blonde at your opening

    Bette sighs.

    (Bette) I know you did. She told me

    Bette points towards her.

    (Bette) And don’t think I don’t know about your little detective work too

    Alice cringes.

    (Alice) Did the hotel contact you?

    Bette narrows her eyes at her.

    (Bette) I’m talking about Helena Peabody

    (Alice) Oh

    (Bette frowns) You contacted the hotel too?

    (Alice) Well Helena was cagey so I thought I’d try there. They came through with her name. I was going to share this with you after the opening. But Tina kind of stole my thunder

    (Bette sighs) She certainly did

    (Alice) I was just trying to help you find her, I obviously didn’t then know she was straight. Or engaged to Andrew fucking Rhys-Baker

    They sit in silence for a moment.

    (Bette) Well as long as it’s just you and Helena that know, I guess we can control this

    Alice looks at her sheepishly.

    (Alice) And Shane and Dana

    (Bette) Alice!

    (Alice) Again, I didn’t know who she was! I was excited to find out her name so I told them

    Bette rubs her forehead.

    (Bette) Oh my God this is a fucking nightmare

    They sit in silence for a moment.

    (Bette) Are you saying they only know her name? Or the significance of that?

    (Alice) Well I did give them a bit of an update after the opening

    Bette looks towards the ceiling.

    (Bette) What are you doing to me Al

    1. My apologies, i have been so busy the last weeks but had finally a moment to catch up.

      What a spin we do have here. Tina engaged to a important man and telling Bette lies and saying the lesbian thing isn’t it for her.
      Bette is way too nice to Tina, i would feel betrayed but Bette did accept they would leave their romance in Mallorca. Still i am a little angry with Tina and she obviously want to be near Bette, she could have spoken to Bette by phone instead of meeting somewhere.

      Look forward where you go with this story.
