    Chapter 11 – Wednesday – Shopping Day

    New York – Wednesday Morning

Tina had gone to bed a little later than she had planned. Dinner had gone a little longer than she anticipated but she had really enjoyed seeing Marilyn again. So, she slept in an hour later and she and Angie went to their breakfast place.  It was somewhat more crowded at 6:30 than it was at 5:30. But they found a place and ordered their food.

Angie:  I really like this place. The food is absolutely excellent. And I love their coffee.

Tina:  I love the fact that I don’t have to go grocery shopping nor clean up afterwards.  And it is convenient to the apartment. Sorry you are not getting home cooked meals this week, but that’s life for this week.  I’ll make it up to you next week.

Angie:  Oh mom, don’t worry about it. I really am enjoying this week with you and being here in New York. This too, has been a unique experience.  I had no idea we had so much to do. Now I understand why you and Mama have been planning and getting things on a list and making all these arrangements. It takes a lot to move across the country. It takes a lot get ready for college.

Tina:  Well, the next step after this week will even be more impressive to you. Bette has employed the services of a moving van and two guys to move you to New Haven. And we are going to follow in a rental vehicle without much sweat.  But our job will be to get your room organized and to complete the last-minute items. Now you need to contact Yale and see if they will give you information on who your roommate will be and her contact information. Then you can tell her what you are bringing to the room so she does not have to bring those things. You will have a fridge and a microwave and a hot plate. So perhaps she might want to bring a television or something to play music on. It will make both of your lives easier if you talk about what is available to her than for her to show up with the same stuff which you won’t have room for.
