At 9:00 o’clock, Bette and Daniel were in bed with their alarms set at 3:30 am. Their excitement caused them to have a somewhat restless moments before they fell asleep.

At 3:30, Bette’s alarm sounded.  She quickly got up and headed for the shower. Today, Tina would be back and she was excited. She quickly dressed in casual clothing knowing that Tina would be dressed in casual clothes in order to be comfortable on the plane. She then stripped the bed and put the sheets in the hamper and remade it so that when she and Tina came home on Sunday, they would have fresh sheets.  She remembered to place a towel under each pillow.  She hadn’t needed one all week but she wanted to be prepared.

She quickly checked Tina’s weekend bag which she borrowed from Daniel to be sure she had the clothing she would need for the weekend.  She then checked her own. She put in her shower bag and make-up kit and a new toothbrush and paste.  She put one in Tina’s bag as well as a backup. She then closed up the two bags and carried them downstairs.

Daniel was downstairs making toast and getting out some fruit. Bette turned on the coffee maker and poured herself and Daniel a glass of juice.  Daniel decided that today’s fruit would be bananas and he would put peanut butter on his toast with a dabble of honey.  Bette decided to get out the strawberry preserves and put on her toast.

Bette:  Dan, would you mind putting those two bags in the trunk while I straighten up the kitchen when we are finished?

Daniel:  Sure Mama. Is this all that you need put into the car?

Bette:  Yes, sweetie.  We are just going away for two nights. We do not need much for that.

Bette made her coffee and joined Daniel at the table to enjoy their snack.  This would hold them over until breakfast.

Daniel:  So, what’s the plan, Mama?

Bette:  Jeanette will meet us at the baggage claim. Once we retrieve the luggage, she will go get her car and we will help her load all the luggage and get you and Angie in the car and she will take you away.  I will then take your mom with me and head out to Santa Monica for a little one on one time. It will be early, so, we will stop and have breakfast somewhere. Then we will proceed to the hotel. However, we may have a side trip before we get to the hotel.  There is something that I want to see and I want your Mama to see it too.
