(Bette) Can I help with anything?

Tina waves a hand dismissively as she moves back to the stovetop.

(Tina) You’re fine, there’s not much left to do

Tina nods towards a bottle of wine on the bench.

(Tina) There’s wine if you’re drinking, or other options in the fridge

Bette nods as she moves towards the fridge. Tina finishes preparing their meal and they then sit together at the island bench, sitting diagonally opposite one another and chatting away comfortably. Tina turns to her once they have finished their meal.

(Tina) Did you want another drink?

Bette looks at her for a moment.

(Bette) Should I maybe get going? You must be tired with your work being so hectic this week

Tina raises her eyebrows and sighs.

(Tina) Well, yes, but my night’s not over yet actually. There’s a film I need to watch before morning. It’s by an up-and-coming director my team are keen on working with, and I want to see it for myself before we make any decisions

Bette smiles at her.

(Bette) I always used to join you when you had to do that

They smile at each other.

(Bette) How would you feel about some company?

Tina raises her eyebrows and they both smile.

(Tina nods) Sure

They move to the couch and Bette takes a seat as Tina remains standing and picks up the remote from the coffee table.

(Bette) I imagine it’s been a long time since we’ve done this

Tina raises her eyebrows as she focuses on the screen.

(Tina) I can’t even remember when the last time would have been

She looks to Bette.

(Tina) This was definitely an early relationship thing for us

She shrugs as she takes a seat next to Bette, and Bette watches her for a moment.

(Tina) You’ll be pleased to know that an advantage of moving up the ranks is that these go through a few people now before they reach me. So the quality will have definitely improved

Bette raises her eyebrows and looks to the screen.

(Bette) Oh well this won’t be much fun then

Tina gives a small laugh and looks over at her.

(Bette smiles) The terrible ones were always my favourites
