Chapter 14 – Saturday – The Weekend Away

Tina:  Yeah, I think it is.  Lots of space. Generally good condition. A good location for the Los Angeles area but out of the way for foot traffic. Reasonable neighborhood. The building has some good options as far as layout. And if we can get it for the right price, I am going to be very happy with it.

Bette:  Sure, why don’t we ask to meet him at the building at 10:00 am this morning.

Tina:  What kind of price do you think we should offer?

Bette:  Well, Tina you were the one who was quoting the cost of leases. What do you think you could get if you leased it out?

Tina:  I think that it would go for $3 to $3.50 per square foot. That is about $11,340,000 at 3.50 per square foot. I would hope that is the high end. That would be $9,720,000 on the low end. So, if we want to play hard ball, we start at $8.5 million. See what he counters.

Just then there was a knock on the door.  Bette went to let the bellman in with the food. She asked that it be set up on the dining table.  She then signed the check giving a generous tip to the bellman.

Tina:  So, what are we eating this morning?

Bette:  Something special:  Spanish omelets, sausage links, grits with butter and biscuits with jelly and honey.

Tina:  Grits?  Oh sweetheart! How wonderful.  I can’t believe you ordered grits for me. Thank you!

Bette: Your welcome.  I thought they were pretty good. They tasted better than they looked. Oh, and I got us some orange juice as well. Sorry, no fruit though.

Tina:  Well, there are a few veggies in the omelet. And the juice will be enough.

Bette:  More coffee?  They sent a fresh pot for us.

Tina:  Yes, please and oh you got for me some hazelnut creamer.  How sweet.

Bette:  Oh good, I glad they had some. They acted like I was from Mars when I asked for it.

Tina:  I’m sure not many people use the stuff. But that’s okay. Thank you.

They began to eat their breakfast and continued their conversation about The Sofa Store. Bette then encouraged Tina to go ahead and text Mr. Allen for the appointment.
