    Chapter 2 – Philadelphia – Day 1

Bette: Yeah, you are right. I guess that means I need to do some reading to beef up on my names of stuff and what it does. Both males and females?

Tina:  Yep…. I can take one and you can take the other if you like. Tag team teaching.

Bette: Oh god…. Take some deep breaths Bette. We got through this with Angie. We can do it with Daniel.

Tina:  Exactly. It’s our job Bette. To make Daniel a knowledgeable productive functioning adult. And this is a key element of his development. Breath. You will be fine. Think about all those talks you had with Angie this summer. Well, this is just the first one of the many, many talks we are going to have to have with Daniel. And we are the ones who need to depart this information to him.

Bette:  Okay, I’ll start my prep on Monday night. We only have about two weeks.

Tina:  I would hope that most of your reading would be review. The way humans function has not changed in several millenniums. And we went through all of this with Angie remember?

Bette: Yes, I remember.  I remember that it went a lot smoother than I thought it would.

Tina: What do you want to talk about?

Bette:  Nothing else right now. We need to start looking for Angie a house or a condo in New Haven. Now that she has said that a sorority is definitely out of the picture. Maybe I will start looking for a realtor next week. Is that okay with you?

Tina: Now nothing too fancy now. Something middle class with adequate baths, bedrooms and common areas. Maybe a garage. Hopefully she will live there for the next four years or so.

Bette: Yeah, and it needs to be readily marketable when she finishes law school.

Tina: I have talked to Margaret about Daniel’s best fit for a middle school and a high school and she has made her three top recommendations. And she is willing to write a letter of recommendation for Daniel. We are going to start that this week. Hope to have the applications mailed before Big Bear. Margaret thinks that Daniel will have no problem and will get early acceptance with his grades, his test scores and his overall background.
