    Author Notes: I was looking through my postings here & noticed that this chapter was somehow missing from this novel, so I've reposted it to be included. It seems like ages ago since this story was first posted. I have edited the other chapters as well & am posting the entire novel on AO3 too. Thanks to all of you who have read the original posting of this story.
    Summary:
    What transpires on the actual day of the election.

    Bette had stopped twice, once at noon and then again at five pm for mini interviews with members of the local media on her chances of winning and what would be her first act as mayor if elected. Dani kept the interviews short with moving the reporters along with their questions. She quickly moved Bette to the next locations. Tina willingly tagging along for support.

    Pierce had arranged for all the extended family and the campaign workers, volunteers and supporters to gather at a downtown hotel ball room to await the results of the election. A reporters would be there to cover the event and comment on Candidate Porter’s results. Dani had insisted on limited coverage in this room. She had instructed other press members to remain outside in the main body of the hotel or outside the building if necessary.

    Bette and Tina arrived at that hotel just after six pm as the election voting polls closed an hour later. Pierce had also arranged for the two of them to have a bite to eat with Angie and relax privately for a few minutes. He knew Bette would want a few precious minutes alone with her family before she made an appearance for the evening.

    Angie joined her parents in a private suite as soon as they arrived. Uncle Shane and Quiara had picked her up after classes today and drove her to the hotel with them. Once inside the room, Bette immediately took off her heels and rubbed her tired feet. She stretched her long neck and leaned back in an overstuffed armchair. Tina did the same, but on the couch in the sitting area of the suite. She took off her suit jacket and rested her feet on the coffee table. Angie joined Tina on the couch and sat beside her mother. A plate of food already in her hand.

    Angie started the conversation.

    “When do you have to go out there mom?”

    “After seven honey.” Bette informed her daughter. “You can hang around with the other members of our family. Okay?”

    “Yeah, no problem.” Angie nodded in agreement as she dove into her food. “I’ll hang out with Uncle Shane.”

    “Honey,” Tina quickly glanced at Bette, one eyebrow raised. “You want to freshen up a bit or do you want to eat something first?”

    3. love these two women as you have portrayed them – such selfish love for each other. No one else will ever fill the need- desire in them like they both do for each other.

      I really like the family scenes, especially when Angie is finding her way in the world and her two mom’s are there guiding her along.

        I’m okay – sorta!! Ha!!

        Looks like I have a small fracture in my right shoulder from a fall – oops!! And of course I’m right handed – ha!
        Hopefully I won’t need surgery – follow-up with surgeon in another week.

        Anyway, this was a repost of this original chapter – there are a lot more chapters to this story. They’re listed above in the drop down box. It disappeared from the original listing – not sure why, so I reposted it. So, take a look if you need to catch up to get through the epilogue & sequel chapters.

        The entire novel just needs a final chapter to complete the story.

        I’m actually posting an update to DOH by tomorrow – so look for that.

          Both rotator cuffs have been injured on my “earth suit” and an assortment of aches & pains are hollering a spoiled toddler . . . but what can I do???

            Thanks for asking.

            Fortunately, the doctor discovered that I actually didn’t have a torn cuff – it was a small bones fracture & extreme inflammation with my arthritis in that shoulder.

            So, the pain has decreased & I’m doing mild therapy. So far – good.

            Enjoy that black beauty!!
