Jim:  Well, that went far better than I thought it would.  I have had some couples almost come to blows over a simple fabric and color selection.  Now let’s look at some furniture style examples so you can give me an idea what styles and wood colors you like.

Jim brought out pictures of several room setting of various styles for sitting furniture. He knew he had the family room, the formal living room and a sitting area for the master bedroom. The style needed to be pleasing to Bette and Tina.  Bette and Tina like contemporary sitting furniture but a traditional wood for the side pieces. They preferred a mahogany color similar to the trim throughout the house. And they did not mind having a modern piece placed strategically in hallways of in the formal living room. Bette insisted on high quality furnishing which were well made and easy to maintain.

Tina then reminded Jim that they wanted to replace all their existing mattresses. Those would need to be installed when the furniture was moved in.  Jim asked if he could visit while the furniture was being delivered or shortly thereafter to see where the furniture was being placed and to determine what new pieces needed to be acquired to make a fully furnished home.

Bette:  Oh absolutely.  You can then decide what pieces need to be recovered in the new fabrics as to match the décor. And you may assist on placing the furniture as it arrives to make the best utility of the space. We plan on moving just as soon as we can after the mattresses are delivered. Our home is closer to work and school and we want to start our new lives.

Tina:  We can arrange for you to have access to the place while we are not home to make installations and to deliver pieces as they become available.

Bette:  We have only a couple of rugs in our New York apartment as the bedrooms were all carpeted. They may need to be cleaned and placed or we may want to replace them altogether. We can decide what to do once they arrive here and we can consult with you. But we definitely want some attractive rugs in every bedroom and possibly throughout the house. We want some quality drapes and sheers throughout the house.
