    Chapter 6

    (Bette smiles) Wine sounds great

    (Tina nods) Head to the couch, I’ll be right over

    Bette smiles as Tina steps away, moving towards the kitchen as Bette makes her way to the lounge.

    Tina arrives in the lounge a short while later, handing Bette a glass of wine and taking a seat close alongside her. Bette sits leaning back and Tina turned towards her with her legs tucked under. Tina reaches towards Bette and moves her hair from her eyes.

    (Tina) Sorry you’ve had such a bad day

    Bette smiles at her.

    (Bette) Thank you, it’s nice to be here

    (Tina) Did you want to talk about it?

    Bette sighs and nods.

    (Bette) Yes, I may as well. It’s all I can really think about anyway

    Tina nods.

    (Tina) Is it the financial side of things that’s causing a lot of the stress?

    (Bette sighs) Yes. If I can’t come up with an alternative quickly I’ll take a substantial hit. There’s so much I love about having my own gallery but at times like these I wonder if it’s worth it

    Bette sighs and has a sip of wine.

    (Bette) I’m kicking myself too for pursuing this artist, I had a bad feeling about them from the start. It always felt risky, and I knew they were temperamental from our first meeting. Brilliant but temperamental

    (Tina sighs) Yes, they often do tend to go together

    Bette looks over at her and smiles.

    (Bette) Are you thinking of your director?

    Tina looks at her and laughs.

    (Tina) Jesus, no

    Bette smiles as she has a sip of wine.

    (Tina) He was an untalented bully

    Bette laughs and Tina looks over at her and smiles.

    (Tina) Well maybe untalented isn’t entirely true. But he wasn’t nearly good enough to justify behaving like such an asshole

    Bette smiles.

    (Bette) Yes we only put up with that from the particularly talented

    Tina shrugs and smiles.

    (Tina) Kinda true though, right?

    Bette smiles and nods.

    (Bette) It is

    She has a sip of wine and looks at Tina affectionately.

    (Bette) It’s funny we have such different jobs on the surface but a lot of what we do is fundamentally the same. Booking and managing talent, and all the drama that comes with that

    3. Alrighty then! Looks like they are both beginning to become attached to each other… to rely on each other for comfort and support.. Now can this turn into something which they can both admit the want for a life time… I hope so.
