Tina raises her eyebrows and smiles.

(Tina) Yeah

They smile at each other.

(Bette) I’d imagine you deal with a lot more bullshit than I do though

Tina leans her elbow against the back of the couch and looks over at her.

(Tina) Well, it’s certainly an industry known for it’s bullshit. There’s a lot of sexism, and just everything that comes with historically having been run exclusively by men

Bette nods.

(Tina) So what happens now? Is it full steam ahead trying to book a suitable replacement?

(Bette sighs) It is, but it’s going to be difficult to find anyone of the same calibre at such short notice

Tina nods and Bette has a sip of wine. Tina watches her for a moment before continuing.

(Tina) I assume things like this have happened before?

(Bette sighs) Yes, every so often

Tina smiles as she runs her fingers through Bette’s hair.

(Tina) And let me guess, you always end up finding a way to pull everything together?

Bette looks over at her.

(Bette) Well, I guess. I’ve managed to in the past, but that doesn’t mean it won’t all blow up this time

(Tina nods) I know, it’s not a guarantee. But you should take confidence from how you’ve managed this previously. I know it’s very stressful right now, but I think if you really think about it, and are honest with yourself, you know deep down that you’ll find a way this time too. Try to keep sight of that while you’re navigating all this stress

Bette looks at her for a moment and then smiles.

(Bette) Your staff are lucky to have you, you’re very good

Tina laughs and then cringes.

(Tina) Does it feel like I’m managing you?

(Bette smiles) A little, but I like it

Bette continues smiling at her and Tina looks back at her for a moment and then raises her eyebrows and smiles.

(Tina) You do, do you?

They share a look and Bette then smiles as she reaches over and takes Tina’s wine from her, leaning forward and placing both their glasses on the coffee table. She sits back and reaches for Tina’s hand, and Tina stands and steps over to her. Tina slowly places a knee either side of Bette on the couch and lowers herself into her lap, and Bette moves her hands to her hips, pulling Tina further into her as she kisses her firmly on the neck.
