Chapter 6 – The Family – Day to Day

In the afternoon, Bette started to shop for some winter clothes for Daniel. She decided that her best bet was L.L. Bean. She ordered a coat with a hood, 3 flannel shirts, two pull over sweaters, 1 heavy weight hoodie, a couple of Henleys, 1 pair of flannel pajamas and some hiking boots.  She also ordered a beanie and some gloves. She ordered most of the clothes in a men’s small except the boots in a size larger than his school shoes. She would check to see if he had jeans and jogging suits and adequate t-shirts and boxers for the weekend.  She talked to the people at L.L. Bean and assured Bette that all of the goods she ordered were available for immediate shipment as they were in the US. She suspected that they were preparing for the Christmas demand and had increased their inventory.

Tina had gone into work and looked at what she had been working on and the completed paintings. She then went and looked at the two painting she planned to present Bette this week as an anniversary gift. She was pleased with what she saw. The blue-green in the background was that of the ocean. The paintings were soft but distinct. She really hoped Bette liked them. She then went and started began to work on her paintings. She stopped and prepared her lunch and decided to work on her list for winter clothes for Scotland. She decided to write Shane and Alice an email and ask for the sizes of those who were going to Scotland next year. She told them that they would need winter clothing, hiking booting, coats and head gear. She reminded Alice to include information on the nanny that she was bringing to help with the girls, as she/he would need warm clothing as well.  She was in the process of gathering a list and would like to go ahead and order the clothes as soon as possible. If they waited until after Christmas, they may not have the right clothing available. She then saved that email and wrote another.

    Hi guys,

We are approaching that time of year again – Ho! Ho! Ho! So, I need the following clothing sizes for everyone who is going to Scotland next year:  Shirt size, pants size, socks size, glove size, shoe size, sweater size. For the kids who are still growing, please estimate what size they will be around the first of August. Oh, and if you plan to bring a nanny or a guest, we need their information as well. We need commitments to the trip by Christmas at the latest and earlier would be greatly appreciated. Lots of planning to do and there are time and space restrictions. If you get your name in the pot, you will be guaranteed a spot.
