    It was getting dark when they got back to the mansion. Tina went straight to the bedroom, needing to be alone for a while. She knew that avoiding her friends wouldn’t make a difference in the way she felt but she couldn’t face their pity. The girls understood and stayed away, giving Tina all the space she needed.

    After an hour of hiding in her room, Tina heard the knock on the door and Alice’s whisper, “Hey Tina, Shane checked and there was no carvings on the oaks…oh, and the dinner is ready.”

    Tina laughed quietly. She had amazing friends and she was grateful for their presence and support. She washed her face and went into the kitchen. Kit was finishing dinner and everybody gathered around the table, listening to Alice’s recap of their trip to the library.

    “I don’t like this,” Kit shook her head when Alice mentioned phone call from Professor Kroll. “Why couldn’t he just tell you?”

    Alice shrugged, “He’s very peculiar. Not only he’s a nerd but he’s an old school nerd and conspiracy theorist. Won’t reveal anything important over the phone because the government is listening,” Alice said the last part in dramatic whisper, making everyone laugh.

    “I can just see you guys meeting in the dark alley behind some sleazy bar away from watchful eyes of the government,” Shane said as she got up to help Kit bring food to the table.

    “Oh my God, I hope not,” Alice rolled her eyes. “I’m not going to any dark alleys, especially in LA. We are all going, right?”

    “Of course we are all going,” Shane nodded. “I want Bette get home as much as Tina. I wouldn’t miss this opportunity to help in any way.”

    “Count me in,” Kit nodded. “If the professor can give us any clues, I want to be there. I want my baby sister back home safe.”

    Tina felt emotional again but she wasn’t embarrassed to show it in front this circle of friends that had always been there for each other. “Thank you guys. I hope Professor Kroll has some answers for us because I need to do something. I can’t just sit idly and wait and just hope. I need to know.”

    10. Happy to see a new chapter of one of my favorite tibette fics! Despite the long absence you still haven’t lost your touch, I can feel Tina’s sadness and longing for Bette and Alice still never failed to crack me up. But I’m with skycaptain, I know Bette loves Tina so much but she knows her sister died while giving birth and she has the pills that can possibly save her life yet she threw it away so she can go back to her future. I find it hard to believe that Bette is capable of doing that but she has her reasons I just thought maybe there’s other way to save a life without altering the future or without having any negative impact. Can hardly wait to see what’s gonna happen next so PPVVS! Still your fan… phacey
