Chapter 81 – I’m Sleeping With the Stouts’ Manager

“It’s not me who has the problem. My arrogant, ignorant, misogynistic prick of a boss is the one with the problem.” Tina kept her voice low, but it was evident in her tone that she was more than outraged.

The red flush returned to Aaron’s round head and face and opened his mouth to protest, but was effectively cut off as Tina continued.

“I have no doubt that the human resources department would be very interested in your treatment of female employees as evidenced by your need to speak to them in such a patronizing manner and I would go out on a limb to believe that Helena Peabody would be especially interested in the way you discuss women of her shared sexual orientation.”

    “That’s ridiculous!” Aaron hollered.

“Is it? Is it really, Aaron?” Tina challenged.

“I LOVE women!” he answered, emphasizing the word ‘love.’

“Oh please! Do you think your own sexual preference negates your loathing for women? Especially women in a position of authority or who have made it clear that they do not need a man in their life to define them.”

    “You’re crazy!”

“And you’re proving my point! I’m crazy because I’m challenging you, right? Because I don’t know my place, is that it, Aaron?” Tina pressed on.

Aaron chuckled sarcastically and shook his head. “Oh man, was she like this when you dated her?” He asked Eric, pointed his finger at the angry blonde.

“Leave him out of this. He knows better than anyone in this room what a huge lawsuit this company faces if I were to round up every female employee who has been the object of your sexual harassment.”

“How dare you threaten me! I have never sexually harassed anyone at work!”

“So you’re denying the ‘spasm chasm’ question you asked Dana less than half an hour ago? Or how about your favorite term to throw around describing women loving women?”

“I’ve only ever said ‘dyke’ to you, and it wasn’t about you!” Aaron’s breathing was becoming labored while his voice cracked at the elevated decibel level it had reached. He tried to calm himself down.

Tina was smiling, enjoying the general manager’s mini-meltdown. She was glad Eric was there as he was now bearing witness to Aaron’s reprehensible character.

“Well guess what, Aaron? Dana is a very good friend of mine. My best friend, as a matter of fact. Like I said, she had no information that you would have been interested in. You wanna know why?”

“I’m sure you’re gonna tell me.” Aaron resigned, throwing his hands up before they smacked against his trouser-clad legs.

“You’re goddamn right I am.” Tina smirked. “I’m sleeping with the Stouts’ manager.” Tina watched the cloud of confusion dissipate as Aaron digested her assertion. “And before you ask, I’ve never been more satisfied in the bedroom than I am right now.” She glanced at Eric, who looked away. The A&R executive had not intended to hurt him, but he was merely collateral damage; a casualty of war that had been waged between her and Aaron. “Trust me Aaron, no matter how far backwards you’re willing to bend over to sign Kit and the Stouts, it’s never going to be enough. I suggest you find another way to bed that little stripper of yours.”

Neither man in the room had a response to Tina’s speech other than contemplative silence. The blonde was well aware that it was the right time to take her leave.

“Now, if you gentlemen will excuse me, I’m going to finish up some paperwork then take the rest of the day off to spend some time with my girlfriend and show her how much I love her.” With that, Tina made her way out of Aaron’s office. Before she disappeared down the hallway, she grabbed the door frame and brought her head back into view so that she could see both Eric and Aaron. “And for the record, before either of you jump to any conclusions, he isn’t to blame for my sudden switching of teams.” She said motioning to Eric. “See you, boys.”

    1. Thank you for these chapters.. great job.. it brings back my memory of your story.. some are new lines and I like the changes… Tina is on fire right now…lol..looking forward to the next chapter..

    2. I am really enjoying this story and how things are meshing for Tina and Bette.. I also like the idea of Joyce to create a record company that does not yet exist. I have a hunch Tina will be a part of it. Who knows? I loved the last part where Tina becomes a fireball and goes nuclear on Aaron. Great writing and tx. Looking forward to more,

    3. What an spectacular exit (from stage) for Tina! Including a public declaration of love for her woman. Way to go, Tina! Oh and those classic final words to end act two. Standing ovations, please. And the Oscar for outstanding performance goes to Tina Kennard. Love it, MeLL.

Aaron was really begging for this verbal thrashing. I haven’t decided if he is a chauvinistic pig or a dumbass with an inflated ego. Probably both and more.

But let’s forget about him and have Tina rush to her girlfriend. Tina must be pumped with adrenalin and dopamine :-)

Thank you for this brilliant chapter. Wonderfull treat this week.

      cheers
      kp

    4. As Kiwipit so rightly wrote, Tina was just royal, here, and I take my hat off to her !
Now with all this adrenaline and emotions accumulated on both sides, the next encounter of our beloved two will be nothing less but flamboyant !! Be careful, it could even melt your pc, dear MeLL ;-) (,,,well, and ours, too !! My, my, what a visual…. *Tibetter’s sighs*)
