Chapter 87 – Telepathically Connected

That was enough to get the room bustling with nervous reps grabbing their belongings and making a beeline for the doorway Tina was still standing in.
“Morning, boss.” Oscar greeted as he stepped towards Tina and out the door.
She acknowledged him with a smile, assuring him that she felt no ill-will towards any of her employees. “Good morning, Oscar. I’ll come find you later and we can talk about last night’s shows.”
“You got it.” He answered.
Aaron reached over and picked up a couple of folders from the conference table and began to make his own way around it towards the door. Tina swiftly kicked it closed once the last of her employees exited and stood with her arms crossed, still staring down her shiny-headed boss.
“Wanna tell me what this ‘impromptu’ meeting was about?” She asked coldly.
“I’ve instructed each of them to attend Kit Porter’s concert tonight. They have one goal and one goal only, to sign the band no matter what the cost. Whomever is successful will be the recipient of a very generous bonus.” Aaron informed Tina.
“You have lost your mind, you know that?” Tina answered in disgust. Knowing that the band would not sign with Alphaville after what Bette told her the night before, she decided against informing Aaron of that pertinent information in favor of letting him find out on his own.
“Is that anyway to be a team player?”
“You are sending all of our personnel to one show tonight and encouraging them to cut one another’s throat for a cash bonus? That’s hardly teamplaying, Aaron, not to mention again, usurping my authority to run my crew.”
“Like I said, after yesterday’s incident I wasn’t sure to expect you back here today.”
Tina scoffed at his response. “Why?”
“What do you mean?”
“I never told you I quit and you never fired me. What made you think I wouldn’t come back to work today?”
Aaron remained silent. Rather than wait for him to respond, Tina opened the door again and walked out.
“Where are you going?” He asked.
“I’ve got work to do, and since you’ve already assigned the rest of my reps to your mission of fucking a stripper, there’s a lot of other things that need to be taken care of.”

Before anything else : a lot of congrats and thanks for ending this so endearing story ! Such a relief to be one of your new readers, it would have been a torture to wait years to get it ;-)
I’m also waiting to see the discomfiture of Aaron the Moron and Snotty Jodi, as well as Kit and the Stouts’ triumph ! Of course with Tibette’s love surrounding all of it – the icing on the cake (… wedding cake, at the end ?) or even chocolate topping, my favorite ;-)
Now, about your request : since “the silliest or dumbest thing” about my “significant other” is that she’s in my heart and soul but not in my life, I’ll spare you the pathetic story of a very-beautiful-lifetime-friendship-comforting-an-unrequisted love…
