Chapter 9
(Bette) How do you feel about going there?
(Tina sighs) I’m not looking forward to it really, but it’ll be ok
They drive on, arriving at Tina’s in the evening. Bette pulls into the driveway and Tina hesitates as she looks towards the house.
(Bette) Do you want me to come in with you?
Tina looks over at her.
(Tina) Would you? I think that might help
(Bette smiles) Of course
They walk together into the house and both stand in the large foyer taking in their surroundings. Tina’s eyes move around the room as she takes in the space.
(Tina) Wow
She looks back at Bette.
(Tina) Am I rich?
(Bette laughs) You’ve done very well
Tina continues walking through the house and Bette follows behind. Tina pauses as she reaches the kitchen and looks towards the patio doors.
(Tina) What’s the garden like?
Bette follows her gaze.
(Bette) I actually don’t know, I’ve never been past the doorstep
Tina looks at her and Bette turns back to her and shrugs. They hold each other’s gaze for a moment before Tina smiles.
(Tina) Well come on then, we can both snoop around
Bette laughs.
(Bette) I might stay here, but you take your time doing whatever you need to
(Tina smiles) OK, well help yourself to anything. I have no idea where anything is but I’m sure you’ll figure it out
They smile at each other as Tina makes her way towards the stairs.
Tina spends some time going through her wardrobe picking out some more options and packing a bag that she found in her closet. When she is finished she sits down on the bed and looks around the unfamiliar room. She finds herself enjoying the feel of the space and looks approvingly at the various stylistic choices, before shaking her head with a smile when she realises these are choices she herself has made.
She looks to the bedside table and casually opens the top drawer, frowning when she sees only a silver ring placed there. She picks up the ring and reads the inscription, confirming it to be her wedding band. She slips the ring on her finger and looks down at her hand before glancing again around the room. She replaces the ring and closes the drawer, with a somewhat irrational feeling of having invaded someone else’s personal space.

I am in love with this story!
It’s good they have both fond and happy memories.
Thought that maybe Tina being in her own home triggered some memories but it didn’t. Her old wedding ring alone in the top drawer, hmmm, maybe Tina still held hope out that one day they would find their way to each other.
Bette snucking in Tina’s bedroom, she can’t hold herself back.
Great chapter, thank you!
I am very much enjoying this story. It is very creative. Tina starts out so angry, but we all know to be that angry means there is another emotion rolling around.
Rather interesting that old Tina had her wedding ring in the side draw. Telling for sure.

and “I dont like my car, it keeps beeping at me” . . .
“Dont tell Alice” . . .
Tina may be stuck back in time, but she hasnt 4gotten that Bette “lovin'”!!!
I hope Tina isn’t too traumatized when her memory returns. I think that they lost touch of the good things in their relationship. Bette sneaking into the bed is precious. Alice said that she trusts them right? Maybe not remembering the bad stuff is not so bad? PPS
Yes, U r soooo rght!
The intimatecies have CLEARLY marked Tina’s soul
. . . for the good I suspect. There’s a reason she KEPT her wedding ring.
Loving this story so far!
