Chapter 9
Tina shrugs and Bette looks over and examines her for a moment.
(Bette) You know, you’re not that different really. Considering how long it’s been
Tina looks over at her.
(Tina) No?
Bette shakes her head.
(Bette) No, not really. I think you’re exactly who I imagined you’d be. Successful, impressive, self-assured. And as genuine as ever
Tina smiles at her as Bette has a sip of her drink.
(Bette) I mean, you’re certainly bossier
She looks over at Tina and smiles.
(Bette) But I like it
Tina laughs and they smile at each other. Bette gets up from the couch and moves to the bookshelf, locating a deck of cards and holding it up to Tina as she moves back towards her. Tina smiles and has a sip of wine.
(Tina) I’m not playing with you anyway, you cheat
Bette laughs as she sits back down alongside her.
(Bette) I do not cheat
Tina raises an eyebrow.
(Tina) Remember Playa Maroma? You had a whole second deck hidden in your bag
Bette smiles and raises an eyebrow.
(Bette) That’s not a fair example. If I recall correctly an item of clothing came off for every hand I won. I was very motivated to keep winning
Tina smiles and shakes her head. Bette shuffles the deck and gives her a sideways glance.
(Bette) Anyway, you find my competitiveness cute
Tina raises her eyebrows and Bette looks over at her and shrugs and smiles.
(Bette) You’ve told me, you don’t remember?
Tina smiles.
(Tina) My God, what was I thinking telling you that?
(Bette laughs) I don’t know actually
They smile at each other. Tina looks away and shakes her head and Bette continues watching her.
(Bette) You don’t think that anymore?
Tina smiles as she has a sip of wine.
(Tina) No comment
Bette smiles as she continues watching her.
They play their game of cards and then move to the kitchen and place their dishes in the dishwasher. Tina turns to her.
(Tina) Well that’s me I think, I’ll head up to bed
Bette nods and Tina looks at her curiously.
(Tina) What?
(Bette smiles) I wasn’t sure what the sleeping arrangements might be for tonight
Tina smiles, looking at her with her head leaned to one side and taking in Bette’s smiling eyes.

Absolutely love your stories. Anxiously awaiting your next chapter.
Tina doesn’t seem to be missing Sarah. LOL on the dinner party from hell. This will be very interesting. P.S. Tina belongs with Bette.
So the only person which appears to be missing from this dinner party from hell will be Julia and possibly Angie…. that would make things absolutely perfect. Perfect in the way that all the players in this drama would be present. So let the games begin – maybe a version of the Hunger Games – fight for possession?
And so Tina spends a second night in Bette’s bed?
Thanks for the chapter..
Who’s going to slip up and the other first? Tina is loving every minute of having Bettes attention. Bette is winning her back right just by spending time together. Well played Bette. Seeing Tina with her fiance will quietly kill Bette.
Loving this story, can’t wait to see what happens !
Thank you
“Baby, I’m sure you’re fine…”
“Can you just pretend you didn’t hear it”?
Loved this exchange between them
I loved your other take on this story theme.
This one is just as good.
Looking forward to more.
