    (Tina) Thank you Bette watches her as Tina settles alongside her, sitting comfortably with her arm resting on the back of the couch and her legs tucked under. (Bette) Everything OK? Tina has a sip of wine and then looks over at her, looking at her for a moment before speaking. (Tina) Sarah will be

    Bette watches her as Tina settles alongside her, sitting comfortably with her arm resting on the back of the couch and her legs tucked under.

    (Bette) Everything OK?

    Tina has a sip of wine and then looks over at her, looking at her for a moment before speaking.

    (Tina) Sarah will be in town this weekend

    Bette raises her eyebrows and they hold each other’s gaze.

    (Tina) It’s last minute and only for a night, but I wasn’t expecting her for weeks

    Bette examines her for a moment and then nods.

    (Bette) OK, I’m sure one of the others can stay with me

    Tina looks over to her and cringes.

    (Tina) She’ll be here the night of Dana’s dinner

    Bette raises her eyebrows.

    (Bette) Right

    They look at each other for a moment.

    (Bette) You’ll bring her to the dinner I assume?

    Tina rubs her forehead.

    (Tina) I don’t know. I can’t exactly go without her, but I guess I could miss it too. But I don’t really want to do that to Dana

    Bette looks downwards for a moment, thinking things over. She looks to Tina.

    (Bette) I could not go

    (Tina frowns) Jesus, no, I don’t want you to do that

    They sit in silence for a moment. Bette then looks to her.

    (Bette) Seems like we all might be going then

    Tina raises her eyebrows and has a gulp of wine.

    (Bette) Does she know you’ve been staying here?

    Tina looks to her wine.

    (Tina) No, she doesn’t

    Tina looks up and they hold each other’s gaze.

    (Tina) I haven’t spoken to her this week really, so I haven’t told her anything of what’s going on

    Bette nods as she examines her.

    (Tina) I’ll see her before the dinner though, I’ll pick her up from the airport in the afternoon. So I’ll fill her in I guess

    They fall into silence for a while, both gathering their thoughts. Bette then looks to her.

    (Bette) So who else is coming? Is it just Alice, Shane and Dana?

    (Tina) Helena too

    Bette looks at her curiously.

    (Bette) Who’s Helena?

    Tina looks over at her.

    (Tina) Oh, um, well she’s a friend of all of ours. A very good friend actually, I’m surprised she hasn’t come up until now

    3. So the only person which appears to be missing from this dinner party from hell will be Julia and possibly Angie…. that would make things absolutely perfect. Perfect in the way that all the players in this drama would be present. So let the games begin – maybe a version of the Hunger Games – fight for possession?

    4. Who’s going to slip up and the other first? Tina is loving every minute of having Bettes attention. Bette is winning her back right just by spending time together. Well played Bette. Seeing Tina with her fiance will quietly kill Bette.
