    Dante’s View

“Sorry, Al. Thank you for being there.”

    “Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.”

    “How’s everything going?”

“I’ve got it, Tee. I’m working on your long ass list as we speak.”

    “Did Dana get the flowers?”

“I don’t know. Let’s ask her. Hey, Dana, did you get the flowers?”

Tina heard Dana in the background say, “what”, confusingly.

    “Yeah, Tee. She’s got them.”

    Tina laughed.

    “Thanks, Al.”

“You’re welcome. I’m hanging up now. You’re slowing me down. I have the list. I’ll take pictures when I’m done.”

    “I love ya, Al.”

    “Of course you do.”

Alice hung up the phone and continued working off of Tina’s long ass list.

Shane parked in front of The Bette Porter Gallery.

    “I’m going in with you.”

“I’m a big girl, Shane. I can change my own clothes.”

“I’m sure you can. But I don’t need you fucking around in there. In and out. You’re not here to work. It’s just a pit stop. We’ve got things to do.”

“Things? Things that you’re not telling me.”

    “Exactly.”

Bette rolled her eyes in exasperation.

“You’re gonna love it. You trust me, right?”

“I’m skeptical right now. But typically, yes, I trust you.”

“Then hurry up and get changed.”

“What pray tell am I changing into?”

“There’s a duffel on the couch in your office.”

    Bette raised her eyebrows.

“I kinda figured you would need to change.”

    “Am I that predictable?”

“I wouldn’t say ‘predictable.’ But yes, you are,” Shane chuckled.

Bette and Shane walked through the Gallery towards Bette’s office. Carpe Diem closed yesterday. It was the Gallery’s most successful installation thus far. It completely sold out. Bette was beyond pleased and she was excited to go over the receipts with Rachel Reese at dinner Friday at The Harborview.

Bette’s mind flashed back to Tina wearing that green dress the last time they were at The Harborview. It was also the day Tina informed Bette she was moving to Van-fucking-couver. She shook the images out of her head and concealed her emotions before Shane had the chance to detect anything.

Bette noticed James had already tagged the pieces designating where they were to be sent. He must’ve stayed after closing, Bette thought. Bette knew James was well aware of how tricky uninstalling Carpe Diem and installing KiKi’s show at the same time was going to be. That whole process would start early the next day. She was glad he was on top of it. Bette was grateful how James had leveled up his game these last few months. She decided if Mark Bradford signed with The Bette Porter Gallery, she was going to let James take point. He’d earned it.

Imagine Tears in My eyes, i just Love this Story an Hope for some more Soon

    2. Glad to see you back!

Love is bigger than the hurt but the fear of Tina leaving Bette again that’s simply not something you can get past soon. Tina has to show Bette in deeds that she is committed and will not walk away again but she needs to be careful not to overwhelme Bette to much by over doing it. The hike was a great idea but everything else she has planned can be to much to handle on the same day for Bette.

For Bette, the memories are bringing her sadness, she loves Tina so much but Tina hurt her almost beyond repair by running away. Tina had a moment of clarity when she spoke her therapist, it’s all about Bette’s happiness and maybe Bette’s happiness is without Tina in her life. I as true Tibette fan hope desperately that they will reconcile but Tina, please please give Bette the time she needs and don’t try to shower Bette with to much things you think will let Bette feel your love, a small step instead of doing it all in once, her intentions are pure but can set Bette of.

      I truly love this story

      • Yes, Tina needs to find a balance. She also needs to work on her own inner struggle. She knows she messed up and she’s truly sorry. In the past that would’ve been enough because Bette would’ve forgiven her and taken her back instantly. But this time is different for both of them. And neither of them know how to navigate this new terrain.

    3. Why are love and fear so interconnected? Hopefully Tina can stay the course and let love do its job. You are forgiven for being absent with this excellent post. Keep Shane and the every long suffering Alice on course. #TibetteIsEndGame
