    Dante’s View

When Bette emerged from the office, she lifted her hands up. She was wearing leggings, a short sleeved gray shirt with a picture of a dog on it, a visor and a sweatshirt around her waist.

“This is what you wanted me to change into? Where are you taking me, Shane?”

    “Hiking.”

    “Hiking?”

    “You heard me.”

    “You hate hiking.”

“But you love it. And I suspect, right now, you need to hug a tree or something.”

Bette laughed her signature laugh. It echoed throughout the gallery. She did need to hug a tree. She shook her head at Shane.

“I sent Alice a text to cancel Family Sunday but she said she was already at the house. Do we have time for a hike?”

    Shane smirked.

“Well, me keeping you out of the house for a little while is part of a bigger plan.”

    Bette raised her eyebrows.

    “I don’t know. I just do what I’m told…most of the time.”

Bette kept her eyebrows raised and Shane shrugged her shoulders. They stared at each other for a couple of breaths. Finally, Bette conceded.

    “You’re taking me hiking?”

    “I am.”

“I can’t wait to see this.”

    “Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.”

Bette squeezed Shane’s shoulders and walked them towards the door. She adored and appreciated her young friend so much.

“How did your date with Bette go? Did you confirm if it was a date?” Julia asked.

“Yes, she confirmed it was a date. And…umm…it was really, really great until…it…wasn’t.”

    “What does that mean?”

“It means I…charged.” Tina let all of the air out of her lungs.

    “Tell me what happened.”

Tina told Julia about everything. Liz dressing her. How gorgeous Bette looked and how she intentionally wore Tina’s favorite top. How Bette was with AJ. The art exhibit. The nervousness. Them holding hands. How she followed Bette’s lead. Running into Sam. The dancing. The kissing. It being too much for Bette. The silent ride home. Then she told Julia about how Bette wanted to talk after they got back to the apartment and how it all crumbled from there.

“That’s a lot to unpack. Let’s start with AJ. How did you feel seeing Bette with him? That must’ve been a little hard,” Julia said slowly.

“Oh my goodness. It was more sweet than hard. So sentimental. It gave me a glimpse of the type of mother she’s going to be. I always knew she’d be amazing. But God…it was endearing.”

Imagine Tears in My eyes, i just Love this Story an Hope for some more Soon

    2. Glad to see you back!

Love is bigger than the hurt but the fear of Tina leaving Bette again that’s simply not something you can get past soon. Tina has to show Bette in deeds that she is committed and will not walk away again but she needs to be careful not to overwhelme Bette to much by over doing it. The hike was a great idea but everything else she has planned can be to much to handle on the same day for Bette.

For Bette, the memories are bringing her sadness, she loves Tina so much but Tina hurt her almost beyond repair by running away. Tina had a moment of clarity when she spoke her therapist, it’s all about Bette’s happiness and maybe Bette’s happiness is without Tina in her life. I as true Tibette fan hope desperately that they will reconcile but Tina, please please give Bette the time she needs and don’t try to shower Bette with to much things you think will let Bette feel your love, a small step instead of doing it all in once, her intentions are pure but can set Bette of.

      I truly love this story

      • Yes, Tina needs to find a balance. She also needs to work on her own inner struggle. She knows she messed up and she’s truly sorry. In the past that would’ve been enough because Bette would’ve forgiven her and taken her back instantly. But this time is different for both of them. And neither of them know how to navigate this new terrain.

    3. Why are love and fear so interconnected? Hopefully Tina can stay the course and let love do its job. You are forgiven for being absent with this excellent post. Keep Shane and the every long suffering Alice on course. #TibetteIsEndGame
