    An afternoon of shopping…

    They followed the man to the back corner of the store and Bette couldn’t help but curse the man when the said display came into sight. There it was in front of her and the girls. The picture perfect bedroom for her twin girls. A combination of pink butterflies and purple fireflies. The girls squealed and instantly she heard the frantic pleas.

    “Mommy please..it’s so pretty”

    “PLLLLEEEEEAAAASSEEE Mommy!”

    And there they were.. those hazel eyes that she fell hook line and sinker for the first time she laid eyes on Tina, except this time there were four of them looking up at her, and blond pigtails to go along with them. ‘How could I ever say no to them?’ she thought to herself.

    Bette let out a sigh as she turned to the salesman and said “We’ll take them”

    “Well alright then… Let me show you where the accessories are so you can pick out which ones you want”

    “Accessories?” Bette said with a hint of terror in her voice, as the girls were jumping around her feet cheering.

    They once again followed the salesman to an isle that was filled with pink butterflies and purple fireflies. Everything from curtains and lamps to decals to go up on the walls. The girls were in heaven.

    They spent nearly an hour in that isle alone. The hazel eyes and excitement of two little girls working one over on Bette in a big way. By the time they were done they had two beds, two desks, two dressers, sheets and comforters, lamps, pillows galore, laundry hampers, rugs, and curtains, all in pink butterflies and purple fireflies. She was able to talk them out of the decals for the walls, but only by promising them that she would paint a mural on the wall like she had done for Colin. At least she was able to get them to agree to wait until they had a permanent living arrangement worked out.

    “Thank you Ms. Porter” the salesman said as he handed her credit card back “We will have these delivered to your house within the hour.”

    “Thank you”

    “You have two very beautiful daughters Ms. Porter”

    2. GREAT chapter, I am glad that Bette got through her first displenary patch with the girls and was able to reassure them. Colin is sooooooooo cutr with Tina and Bette will also love the pictures. I LOVE how this family is continuing to grow together. PPS :o).

    9. Boy, the girls sure had a great day with Bette, they knew she would not say No to them. She could have drawn the line but knew they would be sorely disappointed.And as she said one look in those hazel eyes and she was a goner. Tina will love the room and we know she is going to cry her heart out but Bette will have a great evening with Mommy when the kids are in bed. Bette will be repaid in such a lovely and hot loving way. Hope she’s not too tired. Can hardly wait for the next post. PPS

    11. Poor Bette, three Kennard women she just doesn’t stand a chance. Wait till Tina sees all the stuff she bought. Love the girls and Colin. Great job Bette did of letting the girls know that even when there are times she’s upset with them, it doesn’t change the fact that she loves them.

    14. Oh those poor babies, I could just feel their fear of losing their mommy’s love on DAY ONE of their new life so to speak. Bette is such a sucker but a lovely one that she won’t mind at all that’s she spent large on the girlz. Now hows Colin gonna feel? and is T gonna be all practical on her woman? I hope not.
