    Bette nodded while she scratched her forehead and Tina noticed the hesitation

    ”Bette? If you have something to say or you aren’t comfortable with anything please talk to me. I need you to be as open and honest with me about this so we can move forward. It’s going to be a shootout but I plan to be the last gunslinger standing so don’t hold anything back from me.” Tina warned as she started twirling her pen between her fingers waiting on Bette to reply.

    Bette shook her head and looked at Tina.

    ”Tina? I don’t know about this. This says we are going after a percentage of her future earnings from her clothing line not to mention the 5 million dollars it is asking her to pay me based on her earnings while we were together. Since you showed me this, I’m just having trouble wrapping my head around it.” Bette said as she continued to flip through the pages Tina had prepared.

    Tina stopped twirling her pen and got up positioning herself in front of Bette and her desk. Bette continued to flip through the pages.

    Bette? Look at me for a minute please?” Tina asked folding her arms

    Bette looked up at Tina and sighed in 

    ”Let me remind you that I’m looking out for your best interest. This is more than fair Bette. We are not asking for any more than what you are entitled to. You helped her build her clothing line. Maybe not directly but you were there working beside her every day making sure that her finances were handled. You invested her money in stocks and other entities expanding her portfolio where it grew substantially. You helped her finance the warehouse that now houses the manufacturer for her clothing line. And you devoted 10 years of your life to remain by her side helping her in her endeavor because you loved her. Now if it were up to me, I would wipe her ass totally out but the laws and the judge will not allow that so this is the next best thing”

    Bette laughed and immediately felt better except for the rumble in her stomach that Tina heard.

    ”Well I guess your stomach agrees that we are done here so let’s go get that lunch” Tina said and moved toward the door grabbing her purse, briefcase, and blazer

    1. Well, all the pieces are beginning to line up to fall into place for Bette to guess that Tina is Chris Kennard from Westwood. Haleigh is mentioned in the diary. Joan remember Chris was Tyler’s friend and now Tina admits she went to Westwood for a year? But which year? And maybe Tina’s not quite revealing the whole truth… Bette is close to guess the author of the diary… and Bette must know something as she asked about Lacey Minton who has yet to be mentioned in the diary….

      So the investigation continues. I like Tina… everyone needs a Tina and a Bette in their life… Thanks for the chapter… look forward to more.
