“Yeah, I would love to. Let’s go.” Bette said directing Tina towards the shaded spot under the tree. Both of them sat down side by side with Tina resting her head against Bette’s shoulder.

“This feels nice doesn’t it?” Tina asked taking a deep breath.

“Yes. It’s been a long time since we did something like this.” Bette replied taking in the surroundings.

It felt really good to be sitting there along with Tina, just the two of them. It felt just like the times early on in the beginning of their relationship when they used to get away from all their work and relax somewhere nice and quiet and beautiful in each other’s company.

They sat like that quietly for a few minutes. Bette had entwined their fingers and was caressing Tina’s hand with her thumb. She had her eyes closed when she felt Tina shift slightly towards her. When she heard Tina clear her throat softly she opened her eyes and found herself looking into the soft hazel orbs.

“What is it?” Bette asked smiling softly at the blonde having sensed that Tina had something on her mind.

“Bette, I know we decided not to get into the talk right now. But can I ask you something?”

“It’s okay Tina. Even if we decided not to get into the heavy stuff right now, its okay to share what we are feeling. So please tell me what’s on your mind?” Bette reassured Tina as she slightly turned towards her still holding on to her hand though her grip had tightened a little.

“You do still love me right? You’re still in love with me?” Tina whispered clearly having difficulty saying the words out loud, not knowing how Bette would react.

Bette was caught off guard by the question. Clearly surprised she looked at Tina searching her face, looking into her light browns. Bette could see the fear in Tina’s eyes as she sat there holding onto her breath, almost afraid to breath.

Bette gently smiled at her and brought her closer into her embrace wanting to allay her fears. She brought her right hand around Tina’s back and pulled her closer still and softly rubbed her back.
