Tina pondered the question, knowing she could be nothing but honest to Bette, “yes I have…”
Bette raised her eyebrows, encouraging Tina to continue.
She smiled at Bette’s facial expressions, “one on a college trip…, and one a few years ago when I was travelling in Australia.”
“Anything serious?” Bette asked, curiosity getting the better of her.
“No…, just a holiday romance…”
Their conversation was interrupted by the waiter bringing their meals to the table. They both looked at one another’s plate, glancing at one another and sharing a smile.
Bette tasted her food and ‘mmm’d’, her eyes closing as she savoured the taste.
Tina smiled as she watched Bette’s reaction, her own food emitting similar sounds as Bette’s.
“Bette…?” Tina asked quietly.
“Uhuh?” Bette replied, feeling slightly subdued.
“The holiday romance thing…”
Bette looked up at the words, “what about it…”
“The ones before…”
Bette swallowed the constriction she felt in an instant.
Tina reached her hand across the table, her thumb stroking the softness of Bette’s skin, “no comparison…”
Bette smiled, her feelings were silly, they had only met the day before and yet Tina had evoked feelings in her that she didn’t recognise in herself. She felt her cheeks grow warm, as if she had been read like a book.
“Babe…” Tina said, surprising herself at the familiarity of the word coming from her lips, as if she had uttered the word so many times before.
Bette looked up, she felt her heartbeat increase as she heard the word softly spoken by the woman who had seduced her on her feet only hours ago.
“Let’s enjoy our meal…, remember our day and all the ones we have yet to happen…”
Bette smiled, “I’m sorry…, of course…, we’ve had a great day..”
Tina raised an eyebrow at the comment.
“Sorry…, an amazing day…” Bette laughed.
Tina nodded with a wink, “that’s better…”
They finished their meal, clearing their plates with a surprising hunger that neither had realised they had.
“Would you like to walk down to the harbour tonight…?” Bette asked as they settled the bill.
“Yeah that would be nice…, but I think we might be too late for the sunset…” Tina smiled as she linked her arm through Bette’s, both smiling at the waiter as he held the door open for them.

Hi Jo, This is just perfect. I do love the bold and go getting her attitude that Tina has. I am so used to Bette being the one doing all the chasing but this story has these gals equally matched. It is just so precious seeing them at the habourside in the moonlight, wraped in each other’s arms. Absolutely delicious. More please of thie divine delight. Your Loyal Fan.

What can I say that hasn’t been said before? So romantic. They are treating each other’s heart w/great care and tenderness. Just beautiful. It is obvious that Bette has fallen hard for Tina. Tina seems to have a bit more restraint but is starting to realize that this could be much more than a HR. They are meant to be together. It’s kismet. Lucky you to be able to peruse the naked body of La Beals every day, all day!!
Everyone is right Jo, your writing is like reading poetic literature. Each sentence carefully constructed to invoke in the reader the same sensory pleasure the characters are experiencing.
