A few interns were given a chance to view their concerns on the upcoming show. The board wanted to know what these interns have learned in their four years there. And after Bette’s presentation they knew that she will become highly recommended in running a gallery, giving estimates on art, and she may even start her own gallery in a couple of years.

At the end of the meeting the board members talked individually with the interns.

“Miss Porter, if I may speak for everyone.”

They all nodded their heads.

“Your presentation was very interesting. You pointed out some things that neither of us would have caught. We see that you have gained a great deal of knowledge in the art world and we think that you will be very popular. Are you prepared for that?”

“Yes, Mr. D’Aubigne, I am” She could feel the nerves in her body begin to shutter, but she wasn’t about to show it.

“Well Miss Porter, you have a directors position at Towers Gallery in New York City if you want it.”

She learned not to hesitate when given an opportunity like that.

“Yes sir, I accept.”

“We thought you’d say that. They will be expecting you in a couple of weeks.”

“Yes Mr. D’Aubigne, and thank you once again for this great opportunity.”

“Thank you Miss Porter, you may not know it, but you have been a great asset to our galleries here. We hate to lose you but we guessed you might be missing home a bit.”

“Yes sir, and I would like to say that all of you have been a part of my accomplishments here. This has been a great experience for me. Thank you once again.”

“You’re welcome Miss Porter, now share your love for art with everyone else.”

“You’re Jake Kennard right?”

He was trying to enjoy his dinner at a quiet restaurant but being a famous football player, he was somehow always interrupted by fans.

“Yes that would be me.”

“Man you are my favorite player.”

“Thanks I appreciate it.”

“You know the Cowboys wouldn’t be anything without you.”
