Epilogue
Bright bougainvillea spilled over a low stone wall in a riot of magenta and coral, their papery petals fluttering in the sea breeze.
The air around them was thick with the heady fragrance of tropical blooms, their sweetness filling the air, soft and enveloping, a calm contrast to the world beyond.
Somewhere close, the soft clatter of shells tied in strands tapped against wood, a wind chime keeping time with the ocean’s rhythm.
The villa itself was low and whitewashed, with wooden shutters painted a faded sea-glass blue. The front doors stood open, gauzy white curtains billowing outward with each gust.
Inside, it was shaded and cool, a sprawl of polished stone floors and the scent of limes and clean linen.
Tina led her through without a word, keeping their hands connected. The calm of the house was a balm after the chaos of the last two days.
As they reached the airy living room, Tina turned slightly, her voice low and calm. “Angelica’s gone to the market with Augustine and the cook. They left early this morning, Augustine wanted to pick out the mangoes herself, of course.”
Bette smiled faintly, already picturing her nanny’s determined face among the stalls.
“They won’t be back until later,” Tina continued. “Augustine’s visiting her sister in Mombasa while they’re up that way.”
Bette slowed her steps as they reached the edge of the elegant living room. The sea breeze had fallen away behind them, softened to the faintest whisper now.
“Can we sit?” Bette asked, her voice quieter now. “I need to tell you something.”
Tina turned toward her, concern flickering beneath the ease in her features. “Of course.”
They stepped inside. The living room was bright and serene, furnished in a refined colonial style that blended comfort with understated elegance. White slipcovered armchairs and a matching sofa framed the room, their cushions soft and inviting.
Woven cane panels accented the dark wood frames, and tall shuttered windows stood open, letting in the shimmer of daylight and the gentle breath of the sea. A faded Persian rug stretched beneath their feet, and an antique ceiling fan turned slowly overhead, stirring the air with a quiet hum

Wow, what a ride…. While am greatly saddened to read that this is the last ever instalment of this saga am also endlessly grateful for this story. I am greedy like that you see and like someone else said on this board I could go on reading this story forever.
I’ve read a lot of Tibette fanfic over the years and this is way way at the top of the list of the very best. It’s not only the love story which am ALWAYS there for it’s the exquisite writing and the description of this unique universe that makes you feel like you’re right there with them. So I want to thank you for sharing this I can only imagine how time consuming writing a story like this is. I am very grateful for all the time and work that obviously went into it.
PS: I will be secretly hoping that you get inspired and write an epilogue to the epilogue…. Or who knows a 57 part followup…. Savannah the reconstruction? Am here for it lol
I couldn’t agree more! Thank you for this wonderful AU adventure – from the first moments with Bette and Augustine and Tina arriving at Helena’s resort to the last Tibette-moment in this epilogue. Your writing is outstanding. With every installment you brought the beauty of Kenya with its nature, wildlife, people and culture closer to me.
It has everything: a great, elaborate, gripping plot, interesting supporting characters and lots of Tina & Bette romance.
For me your stories – Savannah especially – are the ones I always go back to when I need a good Bette & Tina fanfic fix. I’m sad to see this series end but on the other hand: congratulation to you for putting an end to it! For me as a ff writer way back when it was the hardest part to finish a story, to decide that I have nothing more to tell.
Like BTA I’m hoping that you’ll find the inspiration and the time to post an afterthought. Or finish any Tibette story you might store on your harddrive.
Thanks again, Kins, for sharing your work with us.
This story was great just like the others!!! Glad it all ended well, sad to see the end. Hoping you continue to write more tibette stories.
You are an incredibly talented writer! Thank you for this amazing saga! I love your every work, each of them is written so beautifully. Please never stop writing, I’ll be happy to read your new stories ❤️
Never thought I’d be reading more of these Savannah ladies, it was a wonderful surprise and a beautifully crafted journey. Thank you.
